friend forgiving Arthur and sending Allison to jail. It''s the best result I could think of."
Then, he continued apologetically, "I put you in a difficult position yesterday by begging you in front of
so many people. I''m really sorry for that."
"It''s okay. You and Arthur are friends. It''s normal for you to help him. I understand that, Jake." She
didn''t take it personally, responding in a calm tone.
If her firm''s employees were the ones who got into that troublest night, she would beg for leniency for
them no matter what, just like Jake did.
