Chapter 696: Temporary Farewell

Yuganded on a slightly yellowed grassy field, riding his Charizard. He jumped off the Charizard, feeling that the calling voice was nearby but unsure of its exact location.
"Human, you''vee!"
As Yuga looked around, trying to find the source of the call, a voice sounded from above him. To his surprise, he saw a Deoxys floating in the air.
"You... you are..."
Yuga stammered, not expecting Deoxys to be the one calling him. The only Deoxys he had encountered before was in the Mount Cor.
"Don''t you remember me?" Deoxys asked in return.
"Yes, yes, we met in the Mount Cor," Yuga replied, recalling their encounter when Deoxys had just awakened and couldn''tmunicate with humans, using a psychic link to convey its thoughts.
Now it seemed that Deoxys had be proficient in using its psychic abilities to understand human speech without needing a direct link.
Deoxys nodded gently in response to Yuga''s recognition and slowly descended from the sky.
"I''ve been traveling since leaving the Mount Cor and wanted to visit Verdanturf Town and see you," Deoxys exined.
Roughly speaking, it could be considered asing all the way to see him! Yuga thought with some amusement. Having a Legendary Pokémon visit was quite a big deal.
Yuga could tell that Deoxys had adapted well to the Pokémon world during its travels, learning a lot about this world''s knowledge andmon sense.
However, Yuga believed that Deoxys hade to see not him but rather its "mother."
Back when the meteorite that birthed Deoxys emitted a strong maic field that disrupted the maic field around the Mount Cor, even Deoxys itself was helpless. Now, that same meteoritey quietly in Yuga''s system backpack.
"By the way, I want to thank you," Deoxys suddenly said.
"Huh? Th-thank me?" Yuga was puzzled, not sure what Deoxys was referring to. Was it about him safeguarding the meteorite?
"When we parted ways, you warned me not to approach high altitudes. When I arrived in Verdanturf, I was curious and tried it. I encountered a very strong Pokémon, and I knew I couldn''t defeat it, so I sneaked away."
Deoxys exined, reminding Yuga of that casual remark he had made.
Well, even a Legendary Pokémon couldn''t resist fleeing from such an embarrassing situation as running away. Yuga had casually mentioned it, not expecting Deoxys to take it so seriously.
"Hehe, I''m d you''re okay. That Pokémon you encountered is called Rayquaza, the guardian of the atmosphere in the Pokémon world. Since youe from an unknown universe, it wouldn''t allow you to appear in its territory, high above the atmosphere."
Yuga exined with a chuckle.
"I see," Deoxys realized, "I''ll try to avoid contact with it in the future."
After living in the Pokémon world for some time, Deoxys had grown fond of this colorful worldpared to the cold, dark universe. So, it had no intention of returning.
Just as they were conversing, Deoxys suddenly approached Yuga closely. "Why do I feel a simr aura from you?"
Yuga was startled by Deoxys''s sudden movement but then understood what it meant.
The "simr aura" Deoxys mentioned was likely referring to Chimecho.
So, Yuga took out Chimecho''s Poké Ball and released it.
"This Pokémon..."
Looking at Chimecho before it, Deoxys seemed puzzled. While it didn''t share any physical resemnce with it self, but it did emit a simr psychic energy fluctuation.
"Let me exin," Yuga took the initiative to rify the situation.
He exined how he had acquired half of Deoxys''s core, and how Chimecho had absorbed that energy core, sharing the same psychic connection as a result.
It wasn''t a particrly significant secret.
"I see, I didn''t expect us to have such destiny," Deoxys said, understanding the situation better.
After listening to Yuga''s exnation, Deoxys spoke with a sense of nostalgia.
Yuga was surprised to find that Deoxys had learned quite well, even using the word "destiny." He could only chuckle awkwardly.
"Well, how about you let me take care of Chimecho for a while?" Deoxys suggested after thinking for a moment.
"Are you nning to take Chimecho for training?" Yuga asked in astonishment.
Deoxys nodded and said, "ording to your exnation, it''s like a half-rtive to me now. I can see it''s facing some trouble, so I thought I''d help it out."
Upon hearing Deoxys''s proposal, Yuga was about to agree, and Chimecho seemed thrilled, eagerly looking at Yuga. Although it would be hard to part ways for a while, the opportunity to be personally taught by a Legendary Pokémon was priceless.
Yuga had already intended to agree when he realized Chimecho''s excitement.
"You should give me my meteorite as well," Deoxys added.
Although Yuga was puzzled, he retrieved the enormous meteorite from his system backpack.
After settling in Yuga''s system backpack for some time, the massive meteorite had lost its connection to the outside world, and its maic field had stabilized. While it couldn''t guarantee the meteorite''s safety in the future, at least for now, it posed no threat.
Seeing his meteorite, Deoxys reached out, and Chimecho flew toward it. Then, Deoxys''s eyes glowed purple, and Chimecho suddenly fainted.
"What are you..." Yuga began to question, puzzled by Deoxys''s actions. He couldn''t fathom why Deoxys would harm Chimecho, especially when there was no need for such a disy of force.
However, Deoxys didn''t answer directly. Its purple eyes grew even brighter as it reached out and pushed Chimecho, who disappeared into the meteorite.
After Chimecho vanished, Deoxys breathed a sigh of relief. "The energy core inside the meteorite wasn''t fully developed. I''m helping itplete its development."
Yuga nodded, finally understanding Deoxys''s intention.
"However, it''s just a hypothesis, and I can''t guarantee sess. But the meteorite''s maic field can be suppressed with Chimecho inside."
Deoxys continued to exin, and Yuga realized there was an unspoken part: if Chimecho''s development seeded, the meteorite would be obsolete, and its maic field would cease to exist.
"Are you taking the meteorite with you?" Yuga asked.
"Yes," Deoxys replied, nodding. It then created a spatial portal with a hand gesture and stored the meteorite inside.
Yuga had seen Deoxys''s subspace during their time in the Mount Cor, so he didn''t find this disy surprising.
Although Yuga felt a great sense of attachment to Chimecho and didn''t want to part with it, he understood that this separation was necessary for Chimecho''s growth. He concealed his feelings of reluctance and epted the decision.

Note: The concept of Deoxys having ess to subspace is not something the author created but is based on events from the original Pokémon anime series. The encounter with Deoxys in the Mount Cor is adapted from that storyline, although the specific episode number is not remembered.
