Chapter 12 Thank Goodness You’re All Right
Samuel froze with the pen in his hand. Arge spurt of ink spread on the paper, ruining his fine
calligraphy. His face darkened as he lowered his pen. “I already said that she had a questionable
character. She can’t marry into our family.”
“But weren’t you continuously praising her during the meal earlier?” Alexander refuted.
“Is there anything wrong with me praising someone who won’t have any rtions with us in the future?
Why would there be a need for me to offend her?” Samuel exined his reason for praising Abigail.
“Are you prejudiced against her just because she wasn’t willing to marry Julian?” Alexander
questioned. “She stole Annalise’s boyfriend!”
“Well, didn’t Annalise steal her fiancé as well? Then can’t I say that Annalise also has questionable
morals?” Alexander rebutted, unwilling to back down.
“Shecks decency. Before she got married, she-”
Alexander interrupted, “Grandpa, it’s normal for people to live together before marriage nowadays. You
can’t keep using old-fashioned perspectives to restrict young people like us.”
At this, Samuel shot Alexander a re.
“Grandpa, I’ve never begged you for anything in my life. I hope that you will allow me to make my own
