    After waiting for more than a decade, Marietta had finally heard the news she wanted to hear


    most. She froze on the spot, unable to speak.


    After a long while, she turned around and said to Caroline in disbelief, “Carrie, I’m not dreaming, am I?

    Caroline patted Marietta on the shoulder. She waited until Marietta had calmed down before


    saying, “What are you going to do next, Mom? Are you going to tell her the truth?”


    Marietta hesitated. “Carrie, have you known Yvonne for long? What kind of person do you think she is?


    Will she ept the truth if I go to the Hacketts‘ home and tell her right now?”


    Marietta had asked so many questions in session that Caroline didn’t know how to answer


    them.


    “Mom, you shouldn’t be impatient. You should think about this carefully and try to tell her the truth in a


    way that doesn’t hurt her.”

    Kirk hugged Caroline and softly caressed her waist with one hand. “Don’t worry, darling. I’ll. always be

    As Jude spoke, he rolled his eyes behind his head, and his pupils fell to the ground. Caroline was so
