“He still thinks of me as a little sister.”

“What if he doesn’t like me? If I confess to him, but he doesn’t like me, wouldn’t it be super
awkward then? We meet all the time here in thepany, after all.”

“I’ll prod him when I’m free.”
“Is that really a good idea?” Cheryl sounded uncertain, which made Caroline smile.
“I won’t ask him then,” said Caroline.
“Wait!”
Carolineughed now. “So do you want me to ask him about this or not?”
Cheryl lightly pushed Caroline’s arm and muttered, “You’re the worst!”
“That’s enough. Go and do your work. Have the legal department prepare a contract to take down
Mackey Group as soon as possible. I’ll head over to theirpany and negotiate with them.”
“You’re going to meet them tomorrow?”
“There’s no time to waste.” Caroline hoped that Kirk could cut ties with the Morrisons as soon as
possible.
Otherwise, Eddy’s second uncle would force him into doing outrageous things over and over again.

“Okay Cheryl turned and left.
A few minutester, Caroline’s phone rang. She picked up her phone and frowned when she
realized that Liam was calling her.
She hadn’t even met up with him to discuss the matter of taking over Mackey Group, yet he was
calling her already.
After a moment of hesitation, she answered the call. “Hello?”
“Caroline?” Liam sounded especially polite today.
“Is there anything you would like to tell me?” asked Caroline.
“You’re still intent on purchasing Mackey Group, right?”
Caroline’s fingers tapped the surface of the desk lightly. “Of course.”
“Well then, let’s meet up tomorrow to discuss it. What say you?”
Caroline stared at the clock on her desk. “Are you willing to sell Mackey Group off?”
Was he willing to do it? Even after she had sent his son to jail?
Liam sounded devastated when he spoke again. “After going through so much recently, I’vee
to realize that you’re a genius at doing business.”
“I wouldn’t regret it if I handed my whole life’s hard work over to you.”
He continued, “I spent all my time and effort on it, so I hope that I can sell it for a good price.”
Caroline nced at her schedule and said, “I’m free tomorrow. I’ll ask someone to inform you of
the time and ce for us to meet then.”
“Don’t worry about it,” Liam told her hastily.
“I’ll have my employees arrange it for you.”
Caroline didn’t give it much thought and agreed to it instantly. “Sure. Send me the time and
location when you’ve arranged it.”
“Okay.” After hanging up, Liam nced sideways at Jane.
“The deed is done.”
She sneered. “Well done. You’ll be rewarded handsomely when it’s all settled.”
Liam smiled and bowed in exaggeration. “Thank you so much!”
