    Gwen disagreed. “That’s not necessarily true. Some matchmakers just want to make a quick buck.


    They would pair anyone as long as they’re living human beings.”


    Adrian smiled. “I’ve never encountered that before.”


    He turned his head and asked Caroline, “Have you encountered a situation like this, Carrie?”


    Caroline looked up at Adrian nkly, as if she had been called out. “Huh?”


    “What are you so lost in thought about?” Adrian asked with a bright smile.


    Caroline shook her head. She wasn’t thinking of anything. She felt like her heart was anticipating


    something, but she didn’t know what exactly she was hoping for.


    It wasn’t until she got on the ne and instinctively looked at the security gate that she realized


    what she was waiting for.


    She was expecting Kirk to show up at the gate to see her, like those romantic scenes in a TV show.


    Caroline wanted tough at herself. She felt like she had been poisoned with a very, very potent
