    Cynthia perked up instantly, straightening in her seat. “Where did you get this news?”


    “From Mitchell. He really didn’t tell you? I thought he was joking.” Jimmy revealed before spilling all the

    Cynthia could hardly remain calm. If Captain wasing back, could it be to settle scores with her?


    “What’s the matter?” Jimmy asked, steering the car into the parking lot of his apartmentplex.

    She and Jimmy alighted from the car.

    Cynthia gave a nod of approval, instructing him to send a message to Mitchell. She feared that if they


    called, Jimmy might inadvertently spill the beans under Mitchell’s maniption.


    Being obedient to Cynthia’s words, Jimmy took out his phone and texted Mitchell as per her


    instructions, [Mitchell, you mentionedst time that Captain said he would be back. Do you know when


    that would be?”

    After sending that message, there was no response from the other side. Jimmy’s heart pounded


    nervously. Subconsciously, his gaze flitted to Cynthia as he asked, “Why has Mitchell suddenly stopped


    replying?”

    Before long, Mitchell’s call came through. Jimmy was so startled that he shuddered all over, looking

    “Answer it. Stay calm and don’t give anything away,” Cynthia remainedposed.

    speaker mode. “Hello, Mitchell.”


    “The question you just asked… it was Cyn who asked you to ask, wasn’t it?” Mitchell’s deep and slow


    voice came over the line, the tone more affirmative than inquisitive.


    Jimmy turned to look at Cynthia instinctively. Had they been found out already?


    Cynthia took his phone from him, remarking casually, “It’s difficult to fool those who know you well.”
