Having the power of a god isn鈥檛 all it鈥檚 cracked up to be. On top of handling a god鈥檚 many responsibilities, Alouin has to contend with the fact that reality is quickly coming to an end. Isn鈥檛 that just wonderful?Fortunately, Alouin has help in the form of allies from five, separate iterations of reality. It would help if they would get with the program and actually, you know, help, though. The Eternal WarRaimie has been living a nice, boring existence in a safe corner of the woods until he comes across a random sword in the forest, and after that, everything changes. On the run from a powerful magic wielder, he鈥檚 forced to accept that he鈥檚 the last heir to a royal line, foretold to cast down the ancient evil suppressing his family鈥檚 native land. The invisible beings trailing his every step, along with the suspiciously magical anomalies they prompt in him, aren鈥檛 helping with that goal. Oh, and if that weren鈥檛 enough, the nightmares he鈥檚 had all his life have twisted into something weird and yet surprisingly familiar.Thank the gods for family and the new friend he鈥檚 made along the way. Maybe things will turn out ok, if he could get a moment to think.Oh, nope. There鈥檚 another threat coming to wreck his life. Time to run again.******This story will start out very stereotypically for the first few chapters (for epic fantasy at least). If you can tolerate a couple of seeming tropes (i.e. the Chosen One etc.) for 5 or so chapters, I promise that The Eternal War will diverge into much more interesting storylines. I like writing slow burns, taking my time to establish characters etc., before getting into the exciting bits of a story. I also thoroughly enjoy trying to subvert tropes, although how successful I am with that is up to the individual reader, of course.I will update the book every day until volume one is complete, and after that, I'll switch to a Wednesday/Saturday release schedule.
