She ranted and raved, pping Skyler as she spoke, “What the hell are you talking about? What did
you give? The deal you introduced to Jade Barlow, you’re still trying to squeeze a profit out of it. You’re
taking nearly half of thepany’s annual ie. We’re keeping tabs on various projects round the
clock while you’re sipping afternoon tea with richdies. You didn’t dare to say a word when your
daughter–inw hit Jade. Do you even see us as humans? Have you no shame saying these things?”
Skyler was trembling with rage. “Damn it, have you lost your mind? Try touching me again!”
Her sister–inw dlyplied and pped her again.
She’d been tolerating Skyler for too long. Although her husband was weak, a gambler, and indecisive,
his sister, Skyler, wasn’t any better.
If it weren’t for her bad influence, would Jade have developed a gambling addiction?
Just because she threw them a bone, she expected the whole family to worship her Did she think she
was God?
When Jade came back, he saw his wife beating Skyler on the floor. He quickly stepped in to break
them up.
Skyler’s disheveled hair, dirty clothes, and slightly swollen face didn’t deter her from shouting and
demanding that Jade kick his wife out. In response, the other woman brushed off the dust, her voice
turning cold as she dered, “Jade Barlow, if you dare to let her stay, you can leave with her!” With
those words, she ascended the stairs, leaving the scene
Jade was a husband who often found himself under the thumb of his dominant wife. However, their
rtionship was genuinely strong. Nevertheless, Skyler’s presence in their home added to their
financial burden, as her extravagant lifestyle was unsustainable in the long run.
When his wife asserted her authority, Jade reluctantly yielded. He leaned in closer to Skyler and
whispered, “Sister, I have a ce in the northern suburbs I’ll clean it up in the next few days, and you
can stay there. I’ll also find you a maid…”
Skyler found herself in a state of disbelief at his words.
Her beloved little brother, actually taking sides with others, not protecting her.
She was so angry she was shaking, pushing Jade Barlow away to stand up. “You’re all the same, I
don’t need you to kick me out, I’ll leave on my own!*
She stood up and pointed at Jade, “You ungrateful wretch, all these years I’ve wasted on you! From
now on, I don’t have a brother!”
With that, she grabbed her bag and stormed out.
Jade took a few steps to follow her, but ultimately gave up.
He was in no position to worry about Skyler right now.
After all, she was Liam’s biological mother, even if she couldn’t return to the Reed family, her life
wouldn’t be too bad.
After leaving the Barlow family, Skyler finally saw a rted news article
Skyler was taken aback by the headline, prompting her to click on the news article. However, there
were no apanying pictures, only a description of how Liam was treating his wife exceptionally well
and how their romance was still flourishing even after four years of marriage. The article was
inconspicuously ced among other news pieces and didn’t generate significant attention or reaction.
Undeterred, Skyler persisted in her search but couldn’t find any additional news about Liam. Theck
of information left her feeling puzzled and uncertain, so she swiftly dialed Mrs. Kelley’s number
