Chapter 453
Chapter 453
Nics paused, “Your mother–inw might have passed away because of her condition worsening after
her oxygen tube was pulled out.”
Liam’s face turned ugly, “Do you know who they are?”
“No, but Mason said they might not be after money because those cowards ran away as soon as we
mentioned calling the police. The hospital’s surveince might have caught their faces, so we’ll know
who did it once we check.”
Nics paused, “I wanted to ask you, where have you been these past few days? Your phone was
unreachable too. What have you been doing? Where’s Owen? Didn’t hee back with you?”
“Just helping a friend with some stuff.” Liam said indifferently.
“What friend? Why are you being so secretive?”
Liam replied, “The friend’s identity must be kept a secret.”
Nics didn’t ask any more questions after hearing that.
“Which friend’s identity needs to be kept a secret?”
Mason’s voice came from the side, “Do you have any friends we don’t know about?”
Liam didn’t answer.
Nics teased, “It’s normal for us to make new friends after not being back for so many years. Are you
jealous?”
Mason smiled and turned to Liam, “Celeste has been in a bad mood these past few days. She even
fainted the night Aunt Caitlyn passed away. You need to pay more attention to her now.”
Liam felt a dull ache in his heart.
At 1 p.m., the cremation waspleted.
Celeste held Caitlyn’s urn.
After Nics‘ reminder, Liam finally knew what to do this time.
He took the initiative to take the urn from Celeste’s hands and said softly, “Let me do it.”
Celeste didn’t fight him for it and took Caitlyn’s memorial portrait that was handed to her by someone
nearby.
The two of them got into the same car, and Celeste was quiet the whole way.
Liam wanted to say something, but he didn’t know what to say when he opened his mouth.
It seemed that Celeste didn’t want to talk to him.
Instead, Liam wished she would show some emotion.
She was too quiet, not only barely speaking but also not crying.
Her forcefully suppressed emotions made Liam feel ufortable as well.
Finally, the car arrived at the cemetery.

Sienna didn’t get out of the car, as she had stood for a long time at the funeral and her legs were hurting
badly. But she didn’t forget to tell Mr. Robinson to remind Liam at the scene.
After all, this was the kids‘ first time experiencing something like this, and they weren’t familiar with the
ceremony, so they couldn’t be disrespectful.
After the burial ceremony was officially over, Celeste stood up from the ground.
She turned to look at Liam, her expression icy cold.
A breeze blew, and he heard Celeste’s voice carried by the wind, “Liam, let’s get a divorce.”
For a moment, Liam thought he’d misheard.
