Chapter 391
Chapter 391
If Helen knew it all happened because she was trying to hook up with Liam, she would probably give
her a lesson first.
So, Angel skipped over what she did and said, “Tonight was Mr. Francis’s birthday party. Everyone was
there to celebrate, Liam got drunk, and! tried to help him, and Celeste just couldn’t stand it, stormed
over and pped me in the face.”
Helen was pissed, asking, “Why didn’t you fight back?”
Angel replied, “I was being held back. I couldn’t move!”
Angel, wiping her tears, said, “Mom, you’re already married to Dad. Why do I still have to put up with
this humiliation? How long do I have to endure?”
Actually, Helen was pretty fed up too.
People typically get married openly, but her marriage had been hush-hush from the start. To this day,
every time she attended banquets with Shawn, she had to be a secretary.
She had been enduring this for over two decades, and it was only after Caitlyn had her scandal that
Shawn thought about divorce, but then Celeste got noticed by the Reed family.
With Shawn’s business stagnating, marrying into the Reed family was like a gift from heaven. Of
course, he would cherish Celeste like a treasure.
If Celeste didn’t let him divorce Caitlyn, he would back off the idea immediately.
All the years of waiting and patience she and her kids had gone through were worth nothingpared
to a single word from Celeste.
Last year, when her youngest son needed to be enrolled and required some paperwork done, Shawn
was still not willing to divorce Caitlyn despite her begging for years.
Although they eventually got a divorce, and she got married, nothing has really changed from before.
She’s still Shawn’s secret lover, kept in the dark
All of this makes her feel suffocated, having hatred for Caitlyn and Celeste also being extremely
dissatisfied with Shawn’s indecisiveness
If it’s not for Celeste leaving, would she and her children live like underground rats forever?
Now that not only is she not treated as a wife, but she is also being bullied, she’s had enough of this
life!
The noise downstairs alerted Shawn, who was in the study. He came out to see Angel and Helen
crying.
Frowning, he asked, “What’s happened?”
Helen wiped away her tears and said coldly. “Nothing.”
Then she patted Angel on the shoulder, saying, “Go put an ice pack on it. Tomorrow you still have to
give your speech, right?”
Angel nodded and got up to go upstairs. Only then did Shawn see the slight swelling and clear finger
marks on her face, immediately asking. “Angel, what happened to your face?”
With red eyes, Angel said, “Nothing, I just fell identally.”
Shawn doubted, “Did you fall on a handprint?”
He raised an eyebrow, but then Helen interrupted, “Of course not. Celeste pped her.”
Shawn frowned, “What really happened?”
Helen exined the situation with a little exaggeration. Seeing how his daughter was affected, Shawn
couldn’t help but feelheartbroken and promised he would make Celeste apologize to Angel.
Shawn called Celeste three timesst night, and she didn’t pick up any of them.
The next day when she woke up, Celeste smirked at the thought of Shawn calling her to exin about
what happenedst night.
The phone rang for ages without anyone picking up.
By now, Trisha should’ve been up, right?
Celeste pursed her lips and dialed again. This time, just when the ringing was about to end, someone
finally answered.
“Hello?”

A deep, husky male voice came through from the other side, and Celeste was taken aback, “Who are
you?”
As soon as she finished speaking. Trisha’s panicked voice came through, “Letti?”
Celeste found it strange and asked, “Who was that dude who just picked up the phone?”
