David looked at Kaylee and was reminded of the photo album he flipped through a few days ago. “I
knew you looked familiar! You’re the little girl from the Reed family, right? We’re all family here, what a
coincidence to meet today!”
Country folks are mostly simple and straightforward, and David is no exception. Given his age, he
wasn’t going to squabble with a young girl. Knowing she was Liam’s sister, he was even more friendly.
Kaylee sneered, “Who’s family with you guys? Celeste really treats our home like a charity, huh?
Helping the Campbell family secretly isn’t enough, now she brings people home! You Campbells really
have no shame, do you?”
David’s face immediately changed, looking unhappy. He put down his hoe and pointed at Kaylee,
“Youngdy, why are you being so rude?”
“Are you afraid of talking about your dirty deeds, Campbells? Trying to be thieves in your old age, huh?
How’s living in a fancy housepared to the countryside? All of you are like leeches!”
David turned pale with anger, his voice trembling, “You better exin yourself, what’s wrong with
country folks? How are we not good enough? We work hard and grow our own food. Everything you
wear and eat is produced by working–ss people! Why are you being so sharp–tongued and cutting
at such a young age?”
“Did I say anything wrong? Just look at you Campbells. I don’t know what my mom was thinking, still
wanting me to bring medicine to Celeste. Good thing she can’t get pregnant. If she did, it would be
disgusting if the child turned out to be like the Campbells.”
With that, Kaylee took her suitcase and headed for the house.
David was livid, his face turned pale. He stepped forward and grabbed Kaylee’s wrist, “Get out! Take
your things and leave here!”
He yanked her back, and Kaylee stumbled. The suitcase slipped from her hand and fell to the ground.
The bottles inside shattered, and the medicine spilled all over the floor.
Almost instantly, Kaylee’s face grew dark. She pushed David away, “You old man! Don’t you dare touch
me with your disgusting hands!”
David, weakened by age, couldn’t withstand the force of the push from Kaylee, causing him to copse
onto the ground. Gasping in pain, his face contorted with agony as hey there trembling, desperately
attempting to rise to his feet.
Kaylee was taken aback, “Get up, old man! Stop pretending! I didn’t even use any strength.”
As David’s trembling grew worse and his face turned blue, Kaylee began to panic.
Their housemaid heard themotion and came running. Seeing David in this state, she hurriedly
called for an ambnce.
Celeste received the call on the film set. She was told David had an ident, and she immediately
rushed to the hospital after asking for leave.
At the hospital, David was still in surgery, with only the housemaid waiting outside.
Thinking his previous illness had rpsed, Celeste anxiously asked, “What happened? Wasn’t
Grandpa David fine this morning? He even took his medicine on time. Why did he suddenly have to be
hospitalized?”
“The old man had a fall. I don’t know where he hit himself, but he couldn’t get up.”
Celeste frowned, “How did he fall?”
