    Chapter 304

    Chapter 304

Celeste couldn’t help but chuckle because Liam’s tone was just like an angry little kid.

Of course, she dared not say it out loud, cuz if she did, Liam would probably get even angrier.

She whispered soothingly, “Mr. Reed, my bad. Don’t be mad at me, I still need you to make money and

support me, ya know? How could I bear to let you die? I’d feel terrible just seeing you get a bruise. How

‘bout I pull you over here? You can be mad at me once you’re safe in the chair, deal?” Her apology had

no sincerity, and Liam knew it, but he was still confused by her sweet talk.

“Mr. Reed, hand me the bedsheet, and I’ll pull you over.”

Liam nced at her skinny body, “You sure you can handle that?”

    “Don’t underestimate me, I’m strong!”

Liam stared at her slender and pale legs, thinking, yeah, you do have some strength in those legs.

He untied the bedsheet from the bedpost and threw it to Celeste, “Tie this end to the safety chair.”

Celeste did as she was told.

Liam tugged to make sure it was strong enough, then started pulling himself towards Celeste with the

    bedsheet.

At first, progress was smooth, but just as Liam was about to reach the safety chair, the boat rocked

violently again. He half–knelt on the floor, tightly holding onto the bedsheet to stabilize himself.

Celeste quickly reached out, “Hold onto me.”

Liam reached out his hand but couldn’t quite reach Celeste. No matter how hard they tried, there was

always a little distance, and the boat kept rocking, Liam couldn’t steady himself. In desperation, Celeste

unbuckled her seat belt, shed out and grabbed Liam’s hand.

But before she could feel too pleased, the waves seemed to deliberately oppose them, once again

sending them off–bnce. Celeste stumbled from the safety chair and fell straight into Liam’s arms.

Liam was knocked down, instinctively hugging her waist. They rolled a few times and were once again

thrown to the foot of the bed.

Liam’s painful groan came from behind her, and Celeste guiltily asked, “Mr. Reed, are you okay?”

Gritting his teeth, Liam asked, “What’s going on? Why did you unbuckle your seat belt?”

“I was trying to help you, who knew the waves woulde so fast?”

The scolding that had reached Liam’s lips suddenly couldn’te out.

Celeste thought he was still angry, so she whispered, “The more mass we have together, the greater

the friction, so we won’t be flung off so easily.”

Liam couldn’t help but say, “How did you get into college?” What does it have to do with friction?

“I was admitted because of my good looks.”

“Do you think since your face is pretty, it’s okay for your brain to grow anything?”

“Well, one thing’s enough. If everything were perfect, how could others live?”

She was pretty good at making excuses for herself.

After being messed around by Celeste, he didn’t feel like arguing anymore.

Celeste nestled in Liam’s arms, listening to his steady heartbeat.

They had been married for so many years, and it seemed like this was the first time they had been this

    close.

    Odd, yet not so odd.

    “Mr. Reed…”

    “What is it?”

The man’s voice was still cold, but he didn’t seem impatient.
