Chapter 269
Chapter 269
Steven took the file and flipped through a few pages.
Celeste’s background was pretty straightforward, from her birth to school, and thenter marrying Liam.
The content was clear and detailed.
It even had information such as in which hospital she was born, which school she attended, where she
went for treatment when she was sick as a child, and on even that car ident from over six years
ago.
Attached were photos of her at every stage of her life.
Steven’s finger rested on his lip, his brow furrowed.
His assistant curiously asked, “Mr. Garcia, why’d you suddenly want to check up on Celeste?”
Steven casually replied while flipping through the pages, “I want to sign her, so I’m just investigating her
background.”
Did signing actors really require such a thorough background check?
Thepany’s newly signed people didn’t seem to have gone through such detailed investigations.
Could Mr. Garcia be extra cautious because she’s Liam’s wife?
Steven looked back and forth a few pages several times before looking up and saying, “Later, help me
check on Shawn and Caitlyn’s backgrounds too. The more detailed, the better.”
“Alright.”
Just as he finished speaking, Steven’s phone rang.
He nced at the caller ID, his eyes rxed a bit, and he answered the phone.
“Bro, why haven’t youe back yet?”
Steven smiled, “I’m on my way home now. What’s up, bored at home by yourself?”
“Bored? If Dad wasn’t worried about you drinking too much, I wouldn’t bother with you.”
“Well, will you cover for me?”
“No way! Dad’s so strict, if he finds out I helped you lie to him, I’ll get punished too.”
The girl coughed after saying these words.
Steven’s expression softened, “Why are you coughing? Did you catch a cold?”

“No. The air in J city is too dry for me. My throat’s been ufortable these past few days.”
“Turn on the humidifier, drink more water, and I’ll be home soon. Do you want anything to eat?”
“The housemaid cooked dinner. I’m not hungry. Just hurry back, or Dad will ask about you when he
video calls meter.”
“Got it, almost home.”
After hanging up, Steven asked his assistant, “Nathan, can you arrange for some artificial rainfall?”
Nathan’s eyes twitched, “Young Master, artificial rainfall requires approval from multiple departments.”
Just because his sister thought the air was too dry, he wanted to create artificial rain. He was really
spoiling her.
“I see” Steven stroked his chin, “Then starting tomorrow, arrange for a few people to spray water mist
around the house for a few days.”
Nathan muttered in his heart that this was indeedmuch simpler.
Nics helped Celeste get Liam to the bed, panting heavily after the effort.
Drinking with Liam was always like this: he ended up drunk everytime. That big guy couldn’t hold his
liquor at all.
Celeste unbuttoned a few buttons on Liam’s shirt, and seeing Nics about to leave, quickly walked up
to him, “Mr. Francis, let me give you a ride back.”
Nics shook his hand, “I called a taxi on the way, it should be here soon.”
After Nics left, Trisha sent a slightly adjusted photo to Celeste.
“Beautiful, post it on Twitter now!”
