    Adina had been up since 4.00 am. She was so exhausted that her whole body was aching. Duke


    kissed her on the forehead with affection. “I’ll bring you home so that you can have a good rest after the


    toast.”


    “It doesn‘t matter how tiring it is. It‘s just one day.” Adina leaned in his arms and softly said, “You‘ve just


    been discharged from the hospital. You should drink less when you make your toastter.”


    “I‘ll do as you say, Dear.” Duke kissed her cheek again before he turned around and went to the resting


    lounge next door to get changed.


    Adina‘s gown wasplex, and two stylists had to help her before she could sessfully wear it. They


    then immediately put on new makeup on her face.


    This gown was red. It looked festive with its beautifulce and gold embroidery.


    Adina looked in the mirror and fixed her makeup before she walked out of her dressing room and


    knocked on the next room‘s door.

    The makeup artist there respectfully said, “Mr. Winters finished changing half an hour ago. He should


    be greeting the guests in the lobby now.”


    Adina nodded and thanked her before she lifted the hem of her


    gown and walked toward the lobby.


    She stood at the entrance as she nced at the whole banquet hall, but she did not see the stunning


    man.


    That man was like a light that shone brightly wherever he went, so much so that it was impossible to


    look at him directly.


    Theoretically, she should be able to spot him immediately.

    “Wow, Mommy! What‘s on your head? Why is it so beautiful ?”


    The children showed up from nowhere and surrounded her.


    Adina smiled and said, “It‘s a golden hair clip. It‘s an antique piece of jewelry, and it matches my gown.


    Mel, if you like it, I‘ll give it to you once the wedding‘s over.”


    Melody smiled happily. “Thank you, Mommy.” “Oh yeah, where‘s your dad?” Adina smiled and asked.


    The guests were already seated. ording to the schedule, the bride and the groom should be


    entering the hall and making the toast.


    George blinked and said, “I saw Dad walking outside the hotel just now. I don‘t know what he‘s up to.”


    Alden nodded. “Dad seemed worried.”


    Adina frowned.

    “Addy, you finally got changed.” Mrs. Winters smiled and walked over out of the blue. “Duke had to


    leave because of something urgent. I‘ll apany you as you toast to the guests.”


    Adina pursed her lips. “What is he busy with?”

    “The Winters Cemetery is on fire.” Mrs. Winters lowered her voice and said, “It‘s not a big deal, but only


    the bloodline of the Winters family‘s first son is allowed to enter the cemetery, so Duke has to go there


    personally. We can‘t let the kids go, can we?”


    That indeed made some sense.


    Yet, the unknown ominous feeling in Adina‘s heart grew stronger.


    She took out her phone and said, “Mom, I’ll give Duke a call first.”


    There was a glint in Mrs. Winters‘ eyes, but she smiled and said, “Okay, be quick. The guests are


    waiting for us.”


    Adina walked to the side and dialed Duke‘s number.


    After two rings, someone picked up the phone, and she heard the man‘s familiar voice from the other


    end of the line.
