    “What are we doing here?” Serenity asked, feeling puzzled.


    Jackson pursed his lips tightly, looking at the view of Sria through the window ss.


    The young, Jackson hade here with his father once. His father had brought him here and told him,


    “Jack, you know what? You’ll understand what it means to be unstoppable only when you’re high


    standing. You often have no control over your own destiny unless you have enough power.”


    If one wanted to be truly in control of his own destiny, he would have to keep climbing higher and


    higher!


    Whenever Jackson was frustrated, he woulde here and look out over this view of Sria. He had


    told himself that one day, only he could control his own destiny. He had not been here for a long time


    since he had taken over the Valor Group and yet, he was here again. How long had it been?


    Thest time he was here, he thought he was finally inplete control of his own destiny. He would


    no longer be at the mercy of anyone. However, he hade here once again.


    Was he truly in control of his destiny? Or was his fate already in the hands of another person? That


    person controlled his emotions like joy, anger, sorrow, and anxiety. Theseplicated emotions


    somehow reminded him of a long–lost fear!


    Jackson turned his head, his dark gaze pinned to Serenity, who was sitting beside him. He unbuckled


    his seat belt and leaned forward toward her, propping his hand against the sides of her seat.


    “Alright. You can tell me now. Why were you and Lucas in the same store? Why did he happen to


    answer my call to you?”


    The color of his eyes darkened, the emotions in him seemingly unreadable.


    Serenity looked at Jackson’s face in a daze. Taking a deep breath, she told him what had happened


    during the delivery earlier except she omitted the fact that Liliana had purposely tried to hurt her. She


    merely said she had spilled tea on her clothes, and Lucas happened to see it.


    How Lucas had hugged her was a surprise to her as well. She had never seen iting


    “He’s got the wrong person. After hearing his story, I don’t even remember meeting him before,”


    Serenity said.


    Jackson’s gaze was still fixed on her. “What if he’s not mistaken?”


    “What?” Serenity was stunned and looked at Jackson, feeling puzzled.


    “What if he didn’t get the wrong person? Would you fall in love with him?” Jackson questioned, his face


    looking terribly grim.


    Serenity felt that she would be doomed if she answered incorrectly. Oh, God. What was she thinking?


    Serenity pushed down the thought. “No way. Even if he didn’t get it wrong, I’m not going to fall for him.”


    After all, Serenity already had Jack in her heart. Besides, Lucas‘ constant search for a recement for


    the girl in his memory was not something she appreciated.

    Jackson stared down at her, his face getting close. He gently brushed his fingers across her lips,


    rubbing them like a silent temptation.
