Chapter 461 Clues to the Pattern

Chapter 461 Clues to the Pattern

After her conversation with Radley, Freya sat on the bed, her emotions in turmoil. She couldn’t

anymore, so she decided to head to the study. There, she powered up herputer and logged into

The Green mation forum, where she posted a taskmissioning someone to investigate the

    background of “Melodie Heiss.”

If she could prove that Melodie was, in fact, Danna, she could utilize previous evidence to sue and

demonstrate that Darrin had aided Danna in creating a false identity.

Freya frowned as she noticed that Melodie had been actively participating in various dinner invitations

in Caltun recently. Melodie’s sterling character and demeanor had won her favor among many, most

genuinely believing she was merely a Danna look-alike. In short, Melodie had be quite popr in

    Caltun, especially among wealthy women.

After posting the task, Freya quickly received a private message from Jakob.

Killde asked, ‘GS, why didn’t you directly inform me and Michael about the task?”

She chuckled lightly and replied, ‘I thought Michael had been upied investigating the LEV

organization.tely, and you’ve been safeguarding my master. I assumed you both wouldn’t have the

    time.

Killde said, ‘I haven’t found any recent clues. You can cancel the task. I’ll take it.

Her worries eased with Jakob taking on the investigation. She promptly canceled the task and took a

    short nap in her room.

By two o’clock in the afternoon, Freya got up from her bed. As she descended to the first floor, Mrs.

Parker, had already arrived. She, along with Sylvia and Brisa, was engaged in a chess match with

    Isabe.

Freya leaned in for a closer look and couldn’t help but notice that Brisa was a novice in chess. Brisa

was pitted against the three who had been deeply immersed in the game for the past few months, and

it was evident she was losing badly.

It reminded Freya of her struggles not long ago.

Isabe was in high spirits after securing her victory. Mrs. Parker gazed at her belly, suggesting, “After

a few more rounds, let’s walk in the garden. Sitting too long isn’t good for you.”

Afterward, Isabe headed out. Freya took her spot on the chessboard, adding one more loser to the

    tally.

By four-thirty in the afternoon, she had yed several rounds of chess. Later, she joined Brisa as her.

“backseat strategist,” offering advice with a fruit te nearby. However, they continued to lose dismally.

Mrs. Parker couldn’t help butugh, covering her lips. Three heads are better than one, but you two are

    still losing like this.”

Freya replied resolutely, “I’ll win the next round.”

Brisa shot her a re. “I told you not to move the rook there earlier, but you insisted.”

Freya quickly retorted, “And when I told you not to move the king, you didn’t listen to me either. We

wouldn’t have lost if you hadn’t moved that piece there!”

As the two bantered back and forth, Mrs. Parker watched with amusement, somewhat envious of

    Sylvia.

“Your home is so lively. Since Izzy got married, my home has be much quieter. I regret not having

another son back then. At least he could have brought someone back for me.”

Savoring a kiwi, Isabe said, “Mom, if you had another son, he might have given you more to worry

    about.”

Sylvia also chuckled, “Lately, Izzy can’t move around easily. After she gives birth and the child is a bit

older, I’ll have her bring Braxton to stay at your home for a year or so.”

Mrs. Parker quickly added, “Perhaps I’ll find Izzy a handful then. Back at home, she used to be so lively

    and noisy.”

As the group chatted, Freya’s phone in her pocket rang. She paused her role as a strategist and picked

up her phone as she walked to the living room.

It was a call from Brandon.

She smiled and said, “Master, do you miss me?”

“Hmph, even if you don’te to see me for eight years, I won’t miss you!” Brandon’s words were as

    insincere as ever.

Freya didn’t mind. “It’s the weekend today, and I have nothing to do in the afternoon. I’lle see you

    later.”

His voice turned serious. “You have toe.”

She was taken aback and heard the gravity in his voice. What’s wrong, Master?”

“During yourst visit, you copied some patterns. Where did those patternse from?”

She immediately thought of the gold thread pattern she received from Radley during her previous visit

to Brandon’s house. It was a gold thread pattern tucked in The Compendium of Medical Wisdom. She

was unsure of it then, so she drew it and took a photo to show Inken. Those papers with the pattern

    were left with her master.

Freya’s face became serious. “Master, do you recognize those patterns?”

“Come over, and we’ll talk about it,” Brandon said.

She felt a bit nervous. It had been a while since she and Radley discovered the gold thread inside the

book and had investigated with many people. She had also consulted many ancient books but couldn’t

    determine what those patterns represented.

She went to the side room and informed Sylvia, who was ying chess, that she was going to

Brandon’s house. Then, she got in her car and drove away.

While driving, Freya felt that she was getting closer to the truth. The closer she got, the more nervous

she became, so she called Radley.

It was 5 p.m., and the Monaghan Group closed at 5:30 p.m.

The man quickly answered the call. “Frey.”

Her face turned serious. “Radley, do you have time now?”

    “Yes.”

“Come to my master’s house.” She exined thest time, she had copied the patterns and left the

sketches at Brandon’s house. “From the tone of my master’s phone call, it seems he is familiar with

    those patterns.”

“Okay, I’lle right away,” he replied.

Half an hourter, Freya’s car stopped at the entrance of the traditional courtyard, and she immediately

walked to the front door. The Monaghan Group had more of a traditional courtyard vibepared to

    the Kaufmann family.

As she approached the door, she noticed Radley’s car parked nearby. He stepped out of the vehicle

and approached her. They exchanged a nce, and she continued to knock on the door.

Soon, the door swung open, and Brandon’s expression appeared solemn. “Pleasee in.”

The two followed him into the living room, and Freya inquired, “Master, do you recognize the patterns I

    copiedst time?”

Brandon nodded. “However, I want to know where you obtained those patterns.”

She pursed her lips and replied, “They were in an old book. I was unsure of their purpose, so I decided

    to investigate out of curiosity.”

Brandon sighed and stated, “I initially thought you were simply doodling that day, and I nned to

throw those sketches after you left. However, I found them strangely familiar and recalled a rumor.”

“A rumor?” Freya’s expression turned serious.

He furrowed his brow. “It has been some time, and my memory is clouded. Nevertheless, during a

recent visit to a museum, I encountered simr images, apanied by exnations…”

Initially intrigued, Freya began to sense something was amiss as Brandon described the museum. His

words painted a vivid picture of the museum’s history.

The museum’s exhibits told the story of a lost ancient kingdom, once a small yet remarkably

prosperous nation on the outskirts of Florin. Within its borders stood a magnificent pce crafted from

white jade, its floors adorned with golden bricks.
