Chapter 501
Chapter 501 Inquiry
Todd listened carefully, feeling that Ormand''s analysis was very reasonable.
He asked, "Ormand, if it is really the Felton family that he wants, will you help him?"
Ormand''s eyes darkened, and he did not answer the question. He didn''t specify.
Maybe he would help Jerry, or maybe he wouldn''t.
Todd had been by Ormand''s side long enough to know what Ormand meant, so he stopped asking.
After returning to the National Bureau of Investigation, Ormand immediately asked Todd to investigate
Pam''s death himself.
Todd interrogated all the servants and bodyguards of the Felton family.
After half a day of investigation, he got nothing.
Pam''s autopsy results came out.She did take an unknown drug.
Todd examined the autopsy results and asked the forensic doctor, "Can you find out what exactly
caused her suffocation and the time when she took the drug?"
The forensic doctor shook his head.
"No partially dissolved liquid was found in Mrs.Felton''s system. The only reason for such results is the
traces of poison on her body. And I''m guessing the drug isn''t legal abroad.
"As for the time, since we don''t know exactly what she took, we can''t be sure when she took it.Some
drugs have an incubation period.Pending death in a few days is entirely possible."
Todd fell into silence.
In such a way, Jerry couldn''t get away with the timing.
If Ronian insisted that Jerry stole the key to the top floor at the banquet, Jerry wouldn''t be able to
defend himself.
Todd went back to Ormand''s office and reported the results the forensic doctor got to Ormand.
"Gather all the members of the Felton family again for the second round of questioning. This time, I will
ask them myself," Ormand said seriously.
In the afternoon, all the servants were brought into the National Bureau of Investigation’s inquiry room
in separate groups.
Ormand asked, "How was the rtionship between Jerry and Mrs.Felton all along?"
He asked the same question to everyone who came into the inquiry room.
The servant who weeded and watered the garden said, "I don''t know.I haven''t been working for the
Felton family for a long time.I have only been there for two years.Back then, Mr.Jerry was busy with the
Secret Bureau of Investigation''s affairs and didn''t go back to the old house often. He returned to the
Felton''s house recently. But I know that he wasn''t close to Mrs.Felton.After he came back, he didn''t
mention Mrs.Felton, and he didn''t ask for a visit from Mr.Ronian."
The servant, who had worked in the old house for fifteen years, said, "They didn''t get along.Mrs.Felton
hated Mr.Jerry very much. After all, Mr.Jerry was not her biological son. When he was a child, she
criticized him quite a few times.Maybe that was why he had a grudge and killed her!"
Everyone who stayed in the old house for a long time had simr opinions.
Jerry had been bullied by Pam when he was a child.
Later, when he was fighting for power, he was lectured by Ronian a few times.
Besides, Jerry had a previous conviction.
Therefore, the servants all believed in Ronian''s inference.
They agreed that it was Jerry who poisoned and killed Pam.
After a whole afternoon of in-depth questioning, it was almost time to get off work.
All kinds of evidence and testimonies were unfavorable to Jerry.
Ormand was a little annoyed and unconsciously lit a cigarette.
Before he took a puff, he suddenly remembered that Vi didn''t allow him to smoke.
After all, there were two cute babies at home, and they couldn''t go near the smoke.
If he were to be found out when he returned, he would be doomed. He handed the cigarette to Todd.
Todd took it and obediently went to the corner of the inquiry room to smoke.
Thest one to ask before getting off work was Konner.
Konner had recently been working in the National Bureau of Investigation, so he could be here very
quickly.
Therefore, Todd arranged for him to be thest one being inquired about.
"How was the rtionship between Jerry and your mother?" Ormand asked the same question.
At the mention of his mother, Konner was sad, and his eyes turned red.
He suppressed his sadness and said, "Very bad. When he was a kid, as long as my father was not
around, my mother often found excuses to punish him.Jerry hated my mother''s guts..."
He talked for a long time, and his story was no different from that of the other servants at the old house.
Ormand rubbed the space between his eyebrows, his eyes looking slightly tired.
Konner continued, "Ever since my mother didn''t go downstairs often, she barely interacted with
Jerry.Although Jerry hated my mother, he wouldn''t kill her.Besides, if he did have the poisonous serum,
he might have injected Ronian directly."
Ormand suddenly opened his eyes, intrigued.
He and Todd both looked up at Konner at the opposite table at the same time.
"You are the only person speaking up for Jerry today."
Konner was a little ufortable.
"I wasn''t speaking up for him.I was just telling the truth. If he wanted to poison my mother, he''d have to
steal the key to the top floor and risk Ronian finding it.Usually, the top floor was under strict
management.Only a few could go up.To kill my mother waspletely suicidal. The cost was too high."
Konner had followed Caden for a lot of missions recently.
His logic was better than before.
Ormand smiled, "That''s right. Then who do you think killed your mother?"
Konner lowered his head and fell silent.
After thinking for a long time, he said, "I don''t know.I think Ronian has been a bit strangetely, but he’s
not capable of such a thing."
Todd snuffed out his cigarette and came over.He interrupted, "Nothing is impossible.Others might be
moreplicated than you think. To gain power, some people be so obsessed that they can break
ranks. There are many simr cases in the National Bureau of Investigation. You should know."
Konner did not refute, nor did he speak anymore.
He remembered that Ronian had made all the servants bury the things on the top floorst night. He
remembered the unknown ss tube Ronian took away...
Then,te that night, that happened to Pam.
But Konner did not say anything. He just kept his head down, his expressionplicated.
It was time to get off work.
Ormand could tell that Konner had something on his mind and said considerately, "It''s toote
today. You can go back and think about it.If you have any other clues,e and tell me at any time."
Konner hesitated, asking, "Mr.Hobson, if it was Ronian, what would he be guilty of?"
Ormand was tidying up his military uniform.
He replied, "Business is business. He is no longer worthy of being a man by doing this, and he
deserves the consequences of any sanction."
"l see."
Konner lowered his head. His eyes returned to normal, and he stopped talking.
Although he hated Ronian for sending him to the National Bureau of Investigation and letting him suffer,
Ronian was his brother after all, and the Felton family had been doing well under Ronian''s lead.
He couldn''t bear to report Ronian.
Ormand saw the change in Konner''s expression and emphasized in a deep voice, "Konner, if you know
something but don''t tell me, you will be considered an aplice. No matter what, the one who died is
your mother. The one who has been locked up as a suspect for inquiry is your fourth brother who has
the same father as you.Everyone involved is your family.Think about it."
Konner didn''t dare to look Ormand in the eye.
He uneasily clutched his trousers and nodded.
Ormand no longer stayed and turned to leave the inquiry room.
Todd silently followed behind.
When they got into the car going back to the Hobson''s ce, Ormand said, "Keep an eye on Konner
recently.I always feel that he knows something.Maybe he will be the breakthrough."Exclusive content ? by N?(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
