Chapter 351
Jeff chuckled. “There''s a woman here, you know? You should put on your clothes quickly, Adonis.”
Adonis red at him. “You didn''t even give me any time to wear my clothes, you punk! I was dreaming
about eating a roasted chicken when you busted into my room.”
“If you want to eat roasted chicken, I can bring you to a ce that sells them right now. We piloted a
ne here.”
“Really?” Adonis'' eyes glinted.
“Of course.”
Without dy, Adonis put on his pants and a clean robe. “Wait, you''re definitely up to no good if you
woke me up in the middle of the night.”
“So what if I am? Will you just refuse to help me?”
“Fine. Tell me what you''re up to.”
Promptly, Jeff sat in the room with Mabel and said, “Here''s the thing. You''re knowledgeable, right? I
want to ask you something. Do you know anything about Wretched the Great?”
Mabel stared at Adonis in anticipation.
Slightly stunned, Adonis asked, “Did I hear that right? You said Wretched the Great?”
Upon hearing his tone, Mabel and Jeff were delighted. It seems that he does know about it!
“That''s right! Wretched the Great!” repeated Jeff.
“Why are you asking about it?”
“You know about it?”
“Tell me why you''re bringing it up first.”
Jeff nced at Mabel. “You should be the one to tell him.”
In response, Adonis turned to her.
After clearing her throat, she said, “Before we talk about Wretched the Great, we need to start with the
Infant King.”
She began her tale by narrating how she had been intruded upon by the Infant King''s primordial spirit.
She also mentioned Jonathan saving Zoe and taking care of the cacodemon.
Lastly, she spilled everything that transpired during her journey in Thymion, including Wretched the
Great''s desire to dominate the country and massacre its people.
She also brought up its theory about the being sick.
By the time Mabel concluded her story, it was already three in the morning.
Adonis stood up in excitement. “Legend says that Wretched the Great is a natural-born mutant. Its
body is capable of unlimited mutation. Hence, it has the most powerful body in the whole world. It is
said that no one can damage its flesh. I thought it was just a myth, but it seems that it''s real. In that
case, I must visit Thymion to take a look at Wretched the Great.”
“A natural-born mutant? Why is that?” Mabel asked.
“Anything can exist and happen in this universe without any profound reason. So, my answer is that it
simply just is. Some people are born without arms, and some without sight. Meanwhile, there are
people who are born prodigies or with the ability to manipte matter with spiritual energy. It''s pointless
to ponder why Wretched the Great exists.”
“That''s true. Even if God is a precise instrument, He''s bound to make some mistake when creating so
many people,” Jeff said.
“That''s right. In any case, the legends I know mentioned Wretched the Great was born a mutant so
powerful that no one could y it. Additionally, it couldmunicate with all life in existence. From the
moment it was born, it was a king. Also, I believe Wretched the Great is more than a millennium old.
But a thousand years ago, after it reigned supreme for a while, it understood something and vanished.
That''s why no one has heard of Wretched the Great before. Even I thought it was just a joke.”
“Wretched the Great is nearly invincible after cultivating for a thousand years. I bet it hid long ago
because it feared the heavens would kill it. Now that it has reappeared, it''s obvious it has understood
the will of the Heavenly Law.”
“Its cultivation is beyond our imagination. Perhaps it''s capable of sensing the will of the Heavenly Law.
In any case, I''m intrigued about Wretched the Great.” Adonis turned to Mabel. “How about we head to
where it is now? I want to take a look at it. Since you two have a ne, the journey there will barely be
an inconvenience.”
“I thought you hated ne rides.”
“Well, I avoid it if it''s not an important matter. However, the current situation is different. How can a
cultivator like me be particr about that sort of stuff right now?”

He sure is a carefree man and a true cultivator. Mabel uttered, “We''re not going there for sightseeing!
We have to find a way to stop Wretched the Great''s rampage. You''re a cultivator, so you''re supposed to
bepassionate. If you see Wretched the Great killing people upon arriving in Mapleton, will you try
to stop it? If you do, you''ll fail and may lose your life. However, if you don''t, you''ll feel guilty, won''t you?”
“What''s there to consider? Of course, I won''t stop it!”
Mabel was stunned by his answer.
Jeff smiled bitterly.
“What? Did I say something wrong?” Adonis asked.
“Wouldn''t you feel guilty for not stopping it?” Mabel wondered aloud.
“Why would I be? Sure, I am supposed to bepassionate. However, the life my parents gave me is
precious. Usually, when I see someone in need and I think I can help them, I will. However, why will I
get involved if I know I stand no chance of winning and may be killed in the process? Or do you think
our lives are worth less than others? It''s perfectly normal for people to avoid danger. If you''re in an
earthquake or a crumbling house, you''ll flee immediately, right? It''s in every being''s nature to survive!”
His argument was so solid that she had no rebuttal to offer.
Then he eyed her. “You two want me to defeat Wretched the Great, right? That''s why you''re here, no?”
“Not exactly. We want to prevent it from massacring people because we''re closely rted to its
appearance. I don''t want it tomit such a grave sin.”
“ording to what you two have said, its appearance is a work of fate. That''s why you two don''t need
to me yourselves for what happened. Besides, the birth and death of everything are governed by
their ownw. No human can interfere with it.”
Mabel refuted, “You''re wrong. Since we''re part of the cycle of the universe, we may be betraying that
law by not doing anything.”
“How about this? While I can''t defeat Wretched the Great, I know someone who can stop it. However,
he''s not easily persuaded. It''s up to you whether you seed if you''re willing to give it a try.”
Mabel''s eyes sparkled. “Where is this person? Who is it?”
She was very curious about the person who was powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with Wretched the
Great.
After all, even though Gd was a Level Five Immortal, he was taken out by Wretched the Great fairly
easily.
Adonis revealed, “You may have heard of him since he''s quite famous. People call him the Demon
Emperor!”
“You mean Tristan Cadman?” Mabel was shocked.
“It seems that you do know him. If he can''t defeat Wretched the Great, then there''s nothing I can do.”
“Where is he?”
“He''s on Mount Goliath.”
“Where is he specifically on Mount Goliath?” The mountain was so big that Mabel wouldn''t know where
to start her search without some clues.
Adonis disclosed, “I don''t know. Back then, his demonic nature was spiraling out of control, so the
Divine Emperor and Emperor of Chanaea sealed him on the mountain together. Their n was to use
the mountain''s positive energy to temper the Demon Emperor''s demonic nature. I think that process is
about done now, so he should be able to enter and leave Mount Goliath freely.”
Colors drained from Mabel''s countenance. If the Emperor of Chanaea and the Divine Emperor have to
work together to deal with the Demon Emperor, his cultivation must be on a terrifying level!
Immediately, she asked, “So you''re saying the Demon Emperor may not be on Mount Goliath
anymore?”
“Even if he''s not, he knows everything that''s going on on the mountain. If he wants to meet you, you''ll
see him. If not, then you''ll never find him.”
Mabel stood up. “In that case, I''ll pay Mount Goliath a visit.”
“Go ahead. However, I still want to visit Mapleton. I don''t have any identification documents, so you two
need to send me there.”
“No problem.”
After thinking about something, Jeff asked, “You really want to go to Mount Goliath, Mabel?”
“Yeah.” Mabel nodded.
“Are you sure you want to do this? You know what kind of person the Demon Emperor is. He''s utterly
demonic and ruthless. He has gotten so powerful that he won''t have any qualms about killing you.”
“I know, but considering his demonic nature has mostly been tempered, I have to give it a try.”
Jeff sighed. “Sometimes, I don''t know why you and Jonathan are so stubborn.”
Mabel smiled bitterly and remained silent.
“All right, then. Adonis and I will head to Mapleton while you visit Mount Goliath yourself. I doubt my
presence there will make a difference, anyway. Who knows, perhaps the Demon Emperor may be
more merciful if he sees only a woman there.”
