Kevan looked up and locked eyes with Larissa. “Come here.” He reached out for her and spoke in a
very soft voice.
Larissa went over to hold his hand tightly.

granddaughter, she is still a Rogers. My Uncle Bernard’s family is gone, so he can only put up a front
for him.”
“What about Cody? He’s Bethany’s real dad. He didn’t even show up at a time like this?
Larissa knew that Kevan’s Uncle Bernard had been sentenced for exploiting minors. Alter that, Edmund
had been jailed for causing trouble in Westonia, Aunt Maria went to cause trouble at the Rogers family
home and ended up getting sent into a psychiatric hospital. The only person left was Bethany’s real

“It was just two days ago, and it’s not something glorious, so I kept it quiet.” Kevan did not want to talk
more about this, so he changed the subject. “What do you want to eat? After that, we can go to my
mom’s ce and bring Aster home.”
As expected, Larissa’s attention was distracted the moment Aster was mentioned.
“Is Aster okay? And Mrs. Rogers.”

father in her heart.
