Although Dn said he was going to leave, he did not leave at once.
It was not because of Kevan’s persuasion but rather because Dn had some tact himself. He had to
stand together with Sharon at this time-even if he was only acting.
The ballroom upstairs was not in chaos like they thought it was. The quests remained in their seats,
and the waters were bringing the dishes over in an orderly way. There was just a hint of difort on
everyone’sces.
Dn and Kevan walked through therge ballroom to return to their seats.
Xander and Cecilia’s seats were already empty, and Martha’s seat was also empty too. They had gone
to apany Lucas to the hospital. He did not know how Sharon informed everyone of what
happened, but as the guests did not leave, he presumed that she did not tell the whole truth.
He did not know if she had told Walter about the divorce issue. He guessed that she did not because
she had more tact than him, and she knew to look at the big picture more than he did.
He sat next to her. She did not look too good, and he was in a simr state. They ignored each other
and ate their meals in silence.
Due to the huge incident earlier, the people’s interpretation of their expressions was a little different.
None of them thought that it was because the couple was not united. Walter even instructed. “Sharon,
please visit every tableter with Dn and give them toasts as a form of apology.”
“Alright” Sharon replied emotionlessly.
Dn nced at her once before responding in the same way.
Walter had prepared in water for Dn and Sharon. It was in a vodka bottle, so no one could tell the
difference.
There were many guests today, and there were almost a total of fifty tables. Dn and Sharon toasted
every single table. If they were drinking actual alcohol, they would have gotten drunk even if they had a
high tolerance level for alcohol.
Dn, however, was not grateful for Walter’s consideration. He found a waiter to ask for red wine and
threw back ss after ss with the guests.
In the midst of it all some people teased him. “Since when were you such a chicken, Mr. Shields? Your
wife is drinking vodka, but you’re drinking wine?
Dn smiled faintly. “My alcohol tolerance is not as good as hers.”
In the process of toasting, he and Sharon did notmunicate. asionally, the guests might give
them a bit of trouble in the form of making fun of them. They made them drink by trading cups or some
other such nonsense. It was only then that their gazes would meet for a short while.
Kevan was busymunicating with his subordinate about the matter of Lana. Alter Dn and Sharon
reached his table, Kevan only put down his phone and looked up.
The couple had already gone through almost every table. This table was the secondst one.
Dn’s alcohol tolerance was not so good. Having drunk almost a whole bottle of red wine, hisce
was Rushed, and his gaze was unfocused.
Sharon, on the other hand, was no different from her usual sell. She was very in control, and she
smiled even while she held her shot ss. Other than Kevan, the rest of the people at the table were
the Davis family’s closest rtives. Seeing that Dn was about to pour wine into his own ss, Louis
Davis stopped him at once. “That’s enough, you don’t have to toast us here! Go back and eat your
meals. You must be very hungry.”
Dn did not appreciate IL though. “No way! He said firmly. “All of you took time toe today, I have
to toast you guys at least once!” He tipped his head back and drank all the wine in one go.
“Alright then!” Louis led the others to raise their cups. “Dn, we always found it a pity that you did
have a wedding ceremony with Sharon all those years ago. Now, I will take this time to wish you both a
very happy and blessed marriage and for you to have a child very soon!”
The others lolcwed Louis lead and offered all kinds of blessings and good wishes.
Sharon kept smiling and thanking everyone while she nodded. “Thank you, Uncle Louis.”
