“The E.R. said that they called the police when they brought her here, but they didn’t say how she got
hurt
“She must have been beaten up by someone. Otherwise, how do you exin her injuries?!”
“Don’t celebrities have agents, bodyguards, and stuff? Normal people wouldn’t be able to get close to
them, so how the hell did someone even beat her up?”
“That’s for celebs who are popr now! For a washed-up one like Yvette, what agent would care about
her, especially with the huge scandal that got exposed so recently?”
Larissa was originally listening to the gossip as a way to relieve her boredom, but when the name
“Yvette” popped out of a nurse’s mouth, she froze at once. Once she had connected the previous
dialogues to this, she was very surprised.
Yvette was beaten up by someone? But who would do that?
Like Larissa, Gary’s attention was also drawn by the nurses’ conversation. He slowed down until he
decided to just stop walking.

Her answer surprised Gary a little, and he looked down at her for a moment but said nothing. Anya took
the lead, introducing the structure of the floor as well as the purpose of every room they passed by.
Larissa listened attentively. After going one round around the floor, she pretended to ask nonchntly,
“There seems to be someone new in the ward next to mine.”
“Yes.” Anya nodded once, suddenly lowering her voice as she said, “It’s that actress, Yvette Xander. Do
you know her?”
Although Larissa had already guessed, she was still a little panicked when her guess was confirmed to
be true. She spent six years healing her trauma all the way on the other side of the globe, and she had
barely managed to walk out of her traumatic childhood grief when the recent car ident made her
fearful of Yvette and anyone from the Seymour family all over again.

Larissa subconsciously bit down on her lip, her uninjured right hand clutching at the armrest of the
wheelchair. Her knuckles lost their color due to how light her grip was.
Now that Yvette was so close to her, even if she was heavily injured-Larissa could not be sure if this
was another scheme against her. Perhaps her so-called “wounds” were only another act for her to see
She turned Swillly to cast a pleading look at Gary, whose heart sank at once upon receiving her signal.
“No, we don’t,” Gary said, before bending down a little to remind Larissa gently. “Alright, we’ve been out
for quite a while now. It’s time to go back”
After letting Anya know, Gary pushed Larissa back to her ward. When he passed by Yvelle’s ward, he
deliberately hastened his footsteps.
Mrs. Griffin was in the middle of cleaning. While Larissa was out, she changed the sheets into hest
ones, and she also used disinfectant to mop the floor.
