Chapter 554
Chapter 554
“Ms. Seymour, someone’s here to see you.” Larissa’s assistant intercepted her at the elevator lobby
just as she returned from a meeting with a client. The assistant’s expression held a hint of unease, one
that Larissa had never seen on his face before.
“Who is it?” Larissa’s steps halted as a wave of apprehension washed over her, causing her to
cautiously nce behind him.
A trace of disdain shed across his eyes as he replied, “It’s that female celebrity, Yvette, who has
been caught up in a bunch of scandals recently.” He paused for a moment and asked curiously. “Are
you acquainted with her?”
She didn’t answer his question, Instead, she remained still as she inquired, “What does she want from
me?”
“I don’t know.” He shook his head. “She seemed quite angry and had a pretty nasty expression on her
face.”

Although Yvette spoke softly, and her attitude toward him was cordial, he was not hern nor a
greenhorn in the workce. He could somewhat discern her underlying emotions beneath her calm
lacade. Larissa had a premonition that Yvette’s visit was connected to the article. In fact, she had
anticipated that this day woulde.
Yvette’s reputation for engaging in transactional rtionships and behaving arrogantly was widely
known within the industry she used to be a part of. However, the part where she mistreated her
daughter remained a secret known only to Larissa herself and the Seymour family. Given that the
family now relied on Yvette’seback to generate ie and revive Cosmic Entertainment they
certainly wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize their own interests. Therefore, it was easy for Yvette to
figure out who exposed her past.
Larissa took a deep breath and turned to her assistant, instructing him, “Inform the security toe up.
Lead them directly inside it there is anymotion in my officeter”
The assistant widened his eyes in fear. He wanted to ask something but hesitated. In the end, he
replied, “Okay.”
Larissa pushed open the door to her office. Yvette was sitting on the couch, with a cup of lukewarm
water in front of her,
As soon as she heard a noise, she turned and her expression changed instantly. She rose to her feet
angrily. “Was it you?” she eximed. The corners of her eyes fed, smoothing out the line lines.
“What are you saying?” Larissa leigned confusion.
Maybe it was because she had distanced herself from her dark past for too long, or that she had
rehearsed this moment countless times. In her head, surprisingly, she didn’t feel the same lear as
before when confronting the enraged Yvette.
“Don’t y dumb with me! Yvette grabbed a decorative pillow and hurled it toward Larissa.
Larissa swiftly dodged it, and the pillow hit the cold wall behind her, bounced back, and eventually
landed on the floor.
“Ms. Yvette, you need to stay calm.” Larissa maintained a sale distance from her mother, “I have
surveince here.” She nced up at theer of the ceiling and said. “You wouldn’t want any more
scandals to emerge, would you?
Yvette’s expression froze upon hearing that. Momentster, she gnashed her teeth in Irustration.
“Larissa, how dare you?”
She red fiercely at Larissa, her eyes reddening and filed with intense resentment.
Larissa lightly chuckled, neither confirming nor denying anything her mother had said. She bent down
to pick up the pillow from the floor.” Is there anything else?” She then turned to open the ollice door,
seeing no response from her mother. “My time is valuable. If you don’t have other business, please-”
She gestured with a hand signal indicating the way out.
A group of security guards had already been walling outside, and as soon as the door opened, they
leaned in to look inside cautiously.
Yvette immediately noticed the guards in their uniforms. Even if she had the Intention to make a scene,
she had no choice but to leave for the sake of her own reputation and dignity.
