“Got it, Mr. Hoffman. By the way, she arrived at the airport by herself. There''s no sign of Mr. Sebastian.”

Over at the Saviors'' branch, Veikko was waiting for Bailey to arrive when Caridee suddenly showed up.

leaving?”

so I told her.”
By then, Caridee had walked over. Hearing what her nephew said, she gave him a thumbs up. “You
have a good eye. I think we''re a good match too.”
Veikko looked grim as he turned to the bodyguard beside him. “Who told you and your men to let her
in? Anyone who isn''t a member of this sect isn''t allowed in. Are you incapable of understanding such a
basic rule?”
“It wasn''t us. It was Mr. Zayron who instructed us to let her in.”
Veikko''s expression darkened even further at that reply. “Treason is an unforgivable crime. Go and
receive your punishment.”
Here, Caridee stepped forward and hugged his arm. His eyes widened slightly, and he instinctively tried
to free himself from her grasp, but she stopped him.
“Bailey put a lot of effort into treating my injured arm, and it has finally regained some sensation. If that
annoys you, however, feel free to injure it again.”
He stopped moving abruptly. Then, he turned his head away slightly and said in an icy tone, “I''ve said
what I needed to say and made things clear to you, so why are you still pestering me? As the eldest
daughter of the most prominent family, shouldn''t you be more careful about maintaining your
reputation?”
Pouting, she muttered, “I lost the use of my arm because of you, so what do I care about maintaining
my reputation? Are you returning to the Saviors'' headquarters? Take me with you! I told you before that
I''m willing to join your sect if you don''t think I''m worthy of you. I''ll work hard to change to be more like
you until you''re satisfied.”
A dim light flickered in Veikko''s eyes, and his mind was overwhelmed with jumbled thoughts. “I''m not
taking you there, so give up on your wishful thinking and let go of me.”
Caridee held onto his arm tightly and shook her head vehemently. “I''m not letting go! It doesn''t matter if
you refuse. My sister-inw is the head of the Saviors. I''ll just ask her tomand you to take me
there.”
He squeezed his eyes shut. When he opened them again, the conflicted look in them had vanished,
and he appeared as calm andposed as usual.
Looking ahead, he called out, “Bailey!”
She turned around subconsciously, and in one quick move, he reached out a hand and knocked her
unconscious.
Gazing at the woman slumped in his arms, his stony expression gradually faded, reced by
helplessness and frustration.
He gently stroked her face with his long and slender fingers, every move as cautious as though he
were tracing the most exquisite artwork in the world.
“In the end, you still lost your heart to her.” The sound of Bailey''s voice jolted him from his daze.
“Take her away. If possible, give her a pill that''ll make her lose her memories so that she''ll forget about
me. There are many young and talented men out there. She shouldn''t be wasting her time on me.”
After pondering for a while, Bailey ventured, “Cari''s not a fool. Some day, she''ll find out about your
past. With her temperament, she''ll look for you after learning about what you went through and won''t

Seeing that the other passengers were getting their boarding passes checked, she sent Bailey a text

After sending the message, she turned off her phone and walked to the boarding gate.
In the crowd some distance away, Miranda watched her niece pass through the boarding gate with
