Chapter 641
Shirley froze. She gazed at the other with eyes widening with disbelief.
Did I hear her right? Bailey managed to find out the truth? I thought that b*tch Juliana would have
returned to her family to be its heir, which is why she would have no future with Zeke. Now, the
Hoffman family is telling the world that the child in her belly belongs to Huntley. I was so sure that she
would not have found out about it. If the world knew she was carrying a Shurmer, the Hoffman family
would kick her out without hesitation. That b*tch could only keep her lips sealed if she wants to be the
heir of the Hoffman family and let the world mistake her child to be Huntley''s. Now, however, Bailey had
exposed everything.
“I-Is that true, Zozo? Did she expose everything?”
Zoey nodded. Her eyes shed momentarily with rage. “Yes. Not only did she tell Mom that Juliana''s
baby is Zeke''s, but she also told her that the child in your belly is a result of you stealing his sperm to
inseminate yourself. Mom was livid. After being incited by Bailey, I fear Mom may not back you
anymore. You should prepare for the worst, Shirley. If her support ceases, your future in the Shurmer
family is over. By that point, all you can do is watch as Zeke kicks you out and reces you with that
b*tch, Juliana.”
Shirley clenched her fists.
Godd*mn Bailey. This is all because of her. If she did not expose the truth, Mrs. Shurmer and Zeke
would not find out about that night and would continue assuming that it was me who had gotten
involved with him. Even if I couldn''t capture Zeke''s heart, I would at least be Mrs. Shurmer and lead a
life of endless luxury. Now, however, all of my hopes and dreams have been burst by that woman. Why
did she have to be so meddlesome? Her disciple has already returned to the Hoffman family to be its
heir. Why did she have to uncover the truth and disrupt everything?
A triumphant glint shed across Shirley''s eyes when she saw that she had sessfully incited
Shirley''s hatred.
“You know that woman, Shirley. Her ego has inted to such a degree that she thinks she has to have
a say in everything, including who her brother and her disciple should marry. I suppose she thinks my
brother should marry her disciple, and that is why she did not care that you are carrying my brother''s
child.”
Shirley''s exquisite features contorted. It was in that she was livid.
If I could, I would skin that b*tch alive.
“I will remember this, Bailey. You are the cause of all of my misfortune. One day, I will have you pay it
back in blood.”
Smirking faintly, Zoey tugged at the other woman''s wrist. “Zeke already knows that Juliana is carrying
his child, Shirley,” she said gently, “and that you have stolen his seed to make a test tube baby. I think
he will despise you even more. Besides, there''s a high chance of the child in your belly being deformed
after that injury. Since they won''t be happy about its existence, why don''t you use the baby to ruin
Bailey? After all, the child in your belly is a Shurmer. Though it was conceived artificially, the fact that it
is Shurmer cannot be denied. If it dies in Bailey''s hands, we can even turn Mom against her, even if we
couldn''t destroy her. That should teach her a lesson.”
Shirley''s fists loosened slowly.
I know what I must do.
...
Artemis was leaning against the tall windows with a ss of wine in his hand in the study of one of
Tarragon''s branches.
It was during such silent moments that he missed Bailey even more.
That woman has been branded onto my heart and soul.
Sometimes, he thought he would not forget her even after having his memory removed.
That woman has be a part of me that I cannot cut out. Not even memory loss pills can remove her
from my world.

Holden pushed open the door and entered.
“I found out who those suicide attackers had been assigned tost.”
Artemis'' fingers tightened imperceptibly around the ss. He turned around. “Who?”
“Its previous leader was Leo. He had given the suicide attackers to one of his favorite mistresses, who
disappeared after he died. I have ordered the investigation of her true identity, which we will learn of
very soon. Also, Yvette has secretly mobilized the entire force her father had left behind to Hallsbay.
She wants to fatally harm Bailey so badly that she would bear the risk of losing everything.”
Artemis sneered. “She can''t wait to act, can she? Send men to keep a close eye on their movements.
Somebody will show themselves to assumemand. It won''t be Yvette, but the invisible hand that
looms behind her.”
“At once, sir.”
Upon their return to the medical base, Bailey and the others were told that Lionel''s condition had
worsened and was undergoing an emergency procedure.
Without a word, she burst into the operating room.
Meanwhile, Waverly sat on the bench outside, scowling. She turned her narrowed eyes at her son, who
was leaning against the wall. “What are you nning to do? Bring the Hoffman girl back to the Shurmer
residence? She has told the world that the baby belongs to one of the men in her n, which is proof
enough that she does not intend to return to you. That makes sense as being the heir of the Hoffman
family and soon the most powerful woman in Adrune, she would be basking in royal adoration. Why
would she marry you?”
Zeke was blunt. “My child will not remain with the Hoffmans, be it the woman or the boy. Don''t concern
yourself with this. You''d be better off thinking of ways to take care of that Gourd girl.”
Waverly''s scowl deepened at the mention of Shirley.
Despite doting on the girl and even treating her as my daughter, she and her mother yed me out.
“Given that her baby is not a Shurmer, there''s nothing else to say. We will not raise another man''s son.
However, I will not ept the Hoffman girl. Being the heir of the Hoffman family, she is surely going to
take over one day. Besides, her family''s rules dictate that they cannot marry men outside their n.
Provoking her means challenging the might of the entire Hoffman n and will only bring you
catastrophic consequences. Heed my advice. Don''t seek trouble.”
Zeke nced at her. “With everything out in the open,” he said inly, “she has ended up in a dungeon
and may lose her child. I must rescue her.”
“No,” Waverly said at once.
