Chapter 65 A Stained Woman
It was arge vi in front of which many brand cars parked. Beautiful girls got off the cars with the
help of handsome men.
Betty was in a trance.
It was exactly the same banquet as she imagined.
Being in a daze, Betty walked into the vi, her hand held by Kerwin
They met quite a few people, who seemed to be members or friends of the Martin family, on the way.
Knowing who Kerwin was, they smiled politely and deferentially at Kerwin. “Mr. Martin.”
Those people were polite. But Betty noticed that they kept ncing at her in curiosity.
Betty just ignored them and followed Kerwin into the vi.
The banquet hall in the vi was veryrge, decorated elegantly and nobly. Kerwin took Betty to the
head table. Betty noticed Emily and Jeffrey from a distance.
Jeffrey wore a gray suit, good-tailored to reveal his figure and handsomeness. Emily, wearing a bright
yellow dress, looked like a blooming flower.
“Oh, Kerwin, here you are!”
The first person who noticed Kerwin and Betty White at the banquet was a man sitting next to Jeffrey.
He seemed to be less than 50 years old, well-featured. But the craftiness in his eyes made people feel
ufortable.
Betty immediately knew that the man was Kerwin’s elder brother, Jeffrey’s father, Henry.
Henry turned to Betty with a meaningful smile, “This must be my sister-inw. I’ve heard a lot about
you. Come on, have a seat.”
Betty sat down beside Kerwin and greeted everyone by the table politely when Kerwin introduced them
to her.
Kerwin first told Betty about his grandfather, Old Bruce. Although Betty had met him before, she didn’t
leave a good impression on him. Therefore, she behaved more politely this time.
Old Bruce just gave Betty a cold snort and said nothing.
The next one was Henry, still looking at Betty up and down, which made her feel ufortable.
Thest ones being introduced were Jeffrey and Emily. When Jeffrey saw Betty, his eyes even
brightened. But he rpsed into his usual indifference soon.
Emily couldn’t even hide the jealousy in her eyes when seeing Betty.
She never expected that Betty could be so beautiful. She almost got outshone by Betty.
Emily was shocked by the handsomeness of Kerwin even more.
Emily had heard that Kerwin was handsome and capable, but he was a disabled man after all. So
Emily scorned to try to meet him or hook up with him.
But when Emily saw Kerwin with her own eyes, she finally knew that a man could be so handsome and
perfect
Emily always thought that Jeffrey was the best man. Butpared with Kerwin, Jeffrey could only be

Kerwin wore a simple ck suit today. However, even the simple style looked different and elegant on

A trace of anger shed in his eyes. Suddenly, Jeffrey sneered. “Uncle Kerwin is so good to aunt
Betty.”
Betty’s hand paused with chopsticks.
She didn’t know what Jeffrey wanted to do to her.
Kerwin nced at Jeffrey ndly. “She is my wife. I should be good to her.”

Jeffrey was more irritated. He continued in a sinister and strange tone, “You are right. Every man
should be good to his wife. But I don’t think that aunt Betty deserves it. You know what she did in the
past, right? Uncle Kerwin.”
Jeffrey’s remarks were just like a bomb.
Betty turned pale suddenly.
Kerwin cast a cold nce at Jeffrey. “Jeffrey, what do you mean?”
“Nothing.” Seeing that Kerwin seemed to get angry, Jeffrey felt better finally. “But I used to be in the
same college with my aunt Betty. So I know something about her.”
Hearing Jeffrey beating around the bush, Old Bruce lost patience first.
Old Bruce flung the chopsticks down on the table and said impatiently, “If you have something to say,
just say it. Don’t y the word games.”
Betty had heard that Old Bruce was a soldier awarded the Military Cross for his gantry and brilliant
achievements. After leaving the army, he went into business and got a firm foothold in Chicago with his

Grandfather, I heard that aunt Betty used to do some dirty business with men when she was in college.
I really don’t think that she can marry into our family.”
Betty’s face turned ghastly pale.
She didn’t exin anything or got angry. She just looked up and stared at Jeffrey in silence, without
even blinking
With that, Jeffrey found that his anger finally subsided. As he was about to give a proud look to
disgrace Betty, he only raised his head and met Betty’s pale face and bright eyes.
Jeffrey sensed more shock than me in Betty’s eyes.
For a moment, Jeffrey felt that Betty’s stare was a needle, piercing into the heart.
Jeffrey was stunned.
He suddenly regretted that he said these to his great-grandfather. As he was about to say something to
fix the situation, an exmation suddenly went up from the people around.
