After helping Helena to the bedroom , Alex contacted Sarah , Sam , and Mary and explained to them that they would go to the hospital the next day to induce labor .
Sarah was elated that she was finally going to be able to hold her grandchildren , and Sam promised him to bring a new kind of champagne that his brewery had developed .
Mary assured him that the hospital would be ready to bring his girls safely into the world and that she would personally deliver the babies .
Unbeknownst to Alex , these three calls he made were starting to snowball , and many people got the news that Alex would be a father starting tomorrow.
All his friends were notified be either Sam or Sarah , and a decent chunk of the population got the news by an excited Mary who was organizing everything what the babies would need .
After the calls , Alex went to the bedroom where his children would be spending their nights in the near future .
Over the last couple of months , he had decorated the bedroom following Helena’s instructions .
There were two cribs in the room , and children’s cartoon figures decorated the walls along with little bears and stars .
Tables for changing their diapers stood against the wall with all the necessities , and closets were filled with baby clothes , too many clothes , according to Alex.
When they got older , they would get their own rooms , but not until they asked for themselves .
“Starting tomorrow , this place is going to get lively” whispered Alex to no one , and he returned to the living room .
“Any news from the ships or other news I should be aware of , Da’grass ?” asked Alex .
“One ship is set to arrive at its destination tomorrow , the other one within six days” responded Da’grass .
There are new submissions to become a pilots and maintenance crew , enough for two more ships , but with our population it’s difficult to find enough volunteers for this .

We can use the UN to facilitate a location and security , thus showing our willingness to cooperate with them .
The new spaceships are upgraded with new technology obtained by the purchase of the main city , and the colonies are being modified while being built.

The next morning , a nervous-looking Alex stepped out of the taxi in front of the hospital , helping Helena out of the vehicle .
They were waited upon by Sarah , Sam , John and Jack who would be guiding them to their room .
Jack explained that his wife Mary was preparing the delivery room and scrubbing up .
For Alex , everything seemed to be happening in a daze .
It seemed to him that they barely entered the room and changed clothes before they were taken away to delivery room .
Da’grass had already started to induce labor on Helena’s instructions and Alex was holding her hand .
“Sweetie , would you be a dear and ask Da’grass to block the pain ?
After that , I would like you to leave the room” asked Helena .
“I can stay if you want . I can handle it” responded Alex .

After everyone was done laughing and making fun of Alex , they started talking to him to keep his mind busy .
After what seemed like an eternity to Alex , they heard Da’grass saying that the first child had been born and that the second was on its way .
Everybody started cheering , and Sam popped the champagne .
He handed the bottle to Alex , who drank straight from the bottle and passed it around .
After everyone had its turn , Da’grass announced the birth of the second child , and the bottle went around one more time .
“I’m a father” said Alex , and sat down while tears found their way across his cheecks .
Everyone congratulated him and was genuinely happy .
After a while , someone came to get them and led them to the room where Helena was brought .
What greeted Alex was a tired but happy-looking Helena with two bundles in her arms .
“Meet Samantha and Kimberley . Samantha and Kimberley , meet your father” said Helena .
Alex rushed over and gave the three of them a kiss.
“Hi Samantha and Kimberley , I’m your father” replied Alex .
After everyone got a good look at the babies and congratulated the mother , they were chased out by the medical personnel .
“I’m starting to undo the damage to her body , but I suggest she rests here for at least a night” said Da’grass suddenly .
“That’s fine by me” answered Alex and embraced the three of them gently .
“Mary started producing milk with the artificial milk maker .
She took a sample of mine” said Helena with a blush on her face .
She’ll have it delivered daily together with lots of diapers , and if we need her , she’ll just be a call away .
“That’s great” answered Alex .
But I have a question about their names .
I thought you didn’t want to name them Samantha because we already had a Sam .
“Just take the win , sweetie .
It was too good of a name to pass on , and we had to give you some say in the whole ordeal” answered Helena .
But Esmerelda was a no-go .
There’s nothing wrong with the name , but we thought Kimberley was much nicer .
So you got to name one , and so did I .
“How will we tell them apart for now?” asked Alex .
“Kimberley has the cutest mole on her stomach .
So if you have doubts , look for the mole .
But since they are not identical twins , we won’t have this problem in the future” replied Helena .
“There is more good news” said Da’grass suddenly .
The ship due to arrive today has discovered a magnetic field around the planet they were scheduled to investigate , and it looks stable .
Further investigations of the planet are needed , but it looks like it’s at least worth terraforming .
“That’s great , sweetie” said Helena.
“Yeah , looks like good things do indeed come in threes” responded Alex .
