A smirk glinted in Isaac''s eyes. He said, "Cancel it. Rose is here today, and I''ll have lunch with her."
The look on Patricia''s face changed, and she muttered, "You just wanna date thedy. Work is
important too, you know."
She went back to her desk and canceled the appointment. The client called her all kinds of names.
"You said he could meet up with me just ten minutes ago, and now he can''t? Are you crazy?"
She told him Isaac was down with something and had to be hospitalized, so the cancetion was
imminent. After hearing that, the client stopped yelling at her and sent his regards to Isaac. "I can see
him after he''s discharged."
Patricia hung up and stuck her tongue out. I hope he doesn''t know I just said he was hospitalized.
She then muttered to herself quickly, "Knock on wood." I don''t want him to get sick. Just ignore what I

While Isaac was signing the files, Rose had been staying quiet just as Isaac had requested, so Patricia
could finally work in peace.
He had done signing the files at about lunchtime, so he said, "I''ve finished signing the papers, Miss
Aniston. Take them to Miss Lock."
Patricia got up, took the stack of files, and left the office. When she came into Sore''s office, she was
on a call, so Patricia waited for her. However, the call went on for about ten minutes before it ended.
She then looked at the files on the table and asked, "Did he finish signing everything, Miss Aniston?"
Patricia nodded. "Yes, Miss Lock."
Sore smiled at her. "You''re the only one who''s gutsy enough to rush him. I''ll hand over the urgent
files to you next time they need his signatures, okay?"
"Okay," Patricia replied with a smile.
"So, are you going to have lunch with Mr. Arnold, or will you be going to the cafeteria with me?"
Sore might be the head secretary who made a six-figure sry every year, but she was still polite to
Patricia. After all, this girl''s workce was in Isaac''s office. That alone set her apart from every other
secretary.
Isaac used to bring Sore along wherever he went, but now he only took Patricia with him. Patricia
had no qualifications or capabilities, so she only got so far because of her looks. However, just that
alone was reason enough for Sore to befriend her. At least they could let her handle stuff with Isaac if
they were too scared to say anything.
Patricia shook her head and said, "A friend just came, and we''re having lunch together, so thank you
for the offer, but I have to decline."
She then went back to Isaac''s office, but there was nobody there. She quickly looked around before
finally confirming that they were gone. Angrily, she sat back behind her desk and heaved a sigh. "I
thought we were having lunch together. Why didn''t they wait for me?"
And he always waits for me when it''s lunchtime. I can''t believe he dumped me for some girl. Instead of
going out to grab lunch, she stayed in her seat and scrolled through her phone—she was so mad that
she had lost her appetite.
However, her finger swiping across the screen suddenly froze when she came across a status. It was a
photo of food on a table posted by Rose, and Patricia could see Isaac''s hand making an appearance at
the corner of the shot. And there was a caption attached to the photo.
''I''m going to gobble everything up. And him as well.''
Patricia erged the photo and confirmed that the hand indeed belonged to Isaac. It was too obvious
since there was a ring on his index finger, and the pattern of a wolf was engraved on it.
Patricia closed the app. What am I, mad? Of course, it''s him. He just said they were getting lunch
together. Who else could it be but him? She rested her chin on the back of her hand and rolled her
eyes. But why am I feeling so upset? She then got up. "Fine. You guys won''t wait for me, then I''m
getting lunch by myself."
