As rhey walked out of the room together, her parents started asking all sorts of questions. Endermon gave a brief rundown of everything that happened since she left, leaving out the naughty bits. Just as she would rather not hear about her parents, she would rather they not hear about her.
They asked about Dresden and Rutus and why they were not there. She answered and they nodded. Her dad interjected with asking if Shiloh was serious about Endermon. Shiloh said very and he said good.
Endermon asked why they were going to the banquet hall. Her dad asked if it were a crime to feed a lot of people at one time. Endermon said no but she was hoping her visit would not be publicized.
It was what she was trying to avoid by not warning them in the first place. She had hoped it would be more informal. Her mother sighed and said you know how your father is, but it would be rude to send all those people home.
Oh great she''s pulling out the we can''t be rude card. She said fine but there would be no lines of people to talk to her. If they wished to talk it would be like regular people do.
Her father started to argue but her mother said a meet and greet would be fantastic. She pushed a button on the walk and a servant came out. She whispered some commands to him and his face fell.
Apparently the lines were already established. And the multiple course meal that was to be set out as soon as Endermon stepped into the room. Endermon told her mom that she would be in ger room for a few minutes and took Shiloh''s hand.
As they left she could hear her mother tell her father that she knew Endermon wouldn''t have liked the idea, and now he''s gone and upset her. And no there was no point in going after her, just fix it or he could have no weapons for a week. Endermon felt bad but he should have asked before he just did something like that.
A little while later, a knock came from her door. When she said come in, her father came in looking sheepish. He said the people were waiting but not in lines. He also apologized for not asking her I the first place.

She said she''d forgive him if he told her how much money he actually lost to the mermaids and why he never told her she had a mermaid relative. He said something about it not being an appropriate time for such a tale.
Endermon said if he didn''t tell her, she would only refer to him as his unmarried last name. He looked shocked and asked how she knew that. She repeated what the mermaid had told her.
He cursed and told her of a drunken excursion that ended in a hot springs adult group activity. Endermon couldn''t help it, she burst out laughing. He told her not to laugh, because her mother didn''t know about it.
At that moment her mother passed by the door and said she did indeed know, because one of her best friends (who was a terrible gossip) told her so.
That and her father had a terrible time cleaning up the political mess they made. Endermon''s father turned bright red and sat there flustered. Feeling that she tortured her father enough, she and Shiloh got up and followed her mother to the dining hall.
People were on groups and eating with their hands or sitting and dining with proper silverware. They either waved or nodded at them when they entered the room. They made the rounds and talked to most everyone. Endermon nibbled on the offered foods and either listened to gossip or put in her two cents when needed.
When she had enough, she went up to her mother and discreetly told her she was tired and was going to bed, but if the guests wished to stay and oarty then she wished them the best. Her mother nodded and using her illusion magic and made an image of a bird in the room to cause a distraction.
In the confusion, Endermon and Shiloh slipped out unnoticed. As they headed back to her room, Shiloh asked if the parties were always like that. Endermon said they were unbearably formal and boring.
