Endermon was certain it glared at her as they passed. She mentioned this to Shiloh and she just laughed. She said it was her guard cat, and not to give it too much mind, its ego was big enough already.
She gave the cat some commands and it slinked away to carry them out. When Endermon got into the cottage she was blown away. It had a kitchen, two rooms and a living room. The irony was not lost on her that yes, a vampire did have a living room.
There was opulence in the simplicity of it all. There was an expensive, but well worn chair that had books stacked by it. A phonograph and some vinyls. Everything in the room was lived in but was not ratty or torn.
By the time Shiloh was ready to go she had to gently pull Endermon out of her house. Endermon seemed disappointed, and Shiloh said they could come back after the visit with Endermon''s parents.
Still sad but feeling better that they could come back made Endermon feel better. Munching on some dried fruit and nuts as they rode out, Endermon noticed that Shiloh had gotten changed.
She teased Shiloh about it and Shiloh said she just wanted to make a good impression. Endermon said that shouldn''t be an issue. Her father would try to talk her ear off about weapons and such and her mother would just need to be asked about something to do with etiquette and Shiloh would be golden.
They rode on either stopping for Endermon to eat or just stretch their legs. They finally got to the edge of the palace grounds. It was quiet. Almost too quiet. Yes there were people around but there was usually not this few at this time of day.
There were usually servants running errands, merchants selling their wares and a general buzz of activity. Today it was more subdued. As they rode in the direction of the stables, people got more and more scarce. It was like they were all at an event and no one bothered to tell Endermon
As soon as she and Shiloh put the horses away, a few loud footsteps and the miniscule clink of chainmail was all the warning they got. The guards, whom Endermon had known practically her whole life had restrained her and Shiloh.

Telling Shiloh not to struggle, Endermon asked the guards what was going on. Either they did not hear her or were ignoring her. She was so worked up about the guards, she failed to notice Shiloh was smirking at her.
It wasn''t til Shiloh whispered something about a test that Endermon realized what was happening. Then she felt dumb for not seeing it earlier. Then she silently told the animals that they were traitors. The animals just laughed.
The guards stopped at a big wooden door and untied them. Both Shiloh and Endermon had their hands on their daggers as Endermon opened the door. There they were met people with weapons all pointed at them.
Endetmon recognized them as students of all the different weaponry classes her dad had her take. She had beaten them all countless times. Not all at once, mind you.
Noticing they were all practice weapons, she pulled Shiloh to a stop and whispered to her they needed to get the swords used for training that were at the far end of the room. Shiloh said if she was still able to dance, now was the time.
And with that, Shiloh zipped off. That split second of confusion was all Endermon needed. Even though they weren''t holding back, she was still able to avoid being touched by literally dancing through and around the group.
By the time she got her training sword from Shiloh, she had already disarmed three of them. Then the fun began. Between the two of them, they had the entire group separated from their weapons in a matter of minutes.
When the last one lost his sword, the room erupted into cheers. Together Shiloh and Endermon walked to the far end of the room where her parents were sitting. They had huge grins on their faces.
Endermon dropped her sword and ran up to hug her parents. Shiloh was more reserved and walked up. She waited til Endermon ran back and dragged her to her parents.
