    Chapter 124

After Maddie left, Emma immediately went to Amelia’s room and asked tentatively, “Mom, why is Aunt

    here? What’s going on?”

Amelia was still in a daze. She was stunned for a moment before replying, “It’s about your

grandfather’s birthday. I forgot to tell Olivia. She came to remind me of that.”

    No surprise!

Emma’s eyes shed with malice. her fingertips dug into her palm tightly, barely maintaining her

expression to prevent herself from losing herposure.

She lowered her head to hide her eyes so that Amelia would not notice anything wrong.

All these years, she had tried her best to please Amelia and the Green family. She tried her best to be

a considerate daughter and treat Amelia as her biological mother and the Green family as her family. In

the end, she was still inferior to Olivia.

    Why! It’s not fair!

Emma was indignant. Her dark eyes were filled with resentment. She had done so much. She cared

about Amelia and her grandparents. She called them every week. She gave them gifts every festival

    and often visited them.

But this was how they treated her! After more than ten years of living together, she still couldn’t hold a

candle to Olivia, a woman whom nobody met even now!

Emma’s heart was filled with indignance. She hated the heartless Green family and the appearance of

    Olivia.

She felt that her sincerity for so many years had been in vain. The Green family was simply a bunch of

jerks who were not worth her caring.

It took almost all of her willpower to suppress the anger in her heart. She forced a smile with all her

energy and said in a guilty tone, “Mom, it’s all my fault. I should have reminded you earlier.”

“Don’t say that! My girl, how can I me you? It’s my mistake. I have a bad memory now. It’s not your

    problem.” Amelia patted Emma’s hand

and thought to herself, “The daughter living together is an angel who’s better.”

Emma’s eyes were dark. She had expected that Amelia would belittle Olivia and refuse her toe.

But she only said that she had a bad memory.

It turned out that she really nned to bring Olivia to the birthday banquet.

After all, she was not her daughter and nobody could deny this fact. Amelia did not care about her at

all. It’s her grandfather’s birthday, so Ethan would definitely attend. If he met Olivia, he must discover

the truth that she set Olivia up.

Thinking of this, Emma panicked. She could not let Ethan know that she had framed Olivia.

“Mom.” Emma seemed to be implying something. “Is Oliviaing? It feels like she doesn’t have any

affection for the Taylor family or the Green family?”

Amelia frowned. That girl was indeed indifferent and did not have any kinship in her heart. If not for

Liam’s call, she would not havee to the Taylor family.

As for the Green family, she had not even mentioned a visit. It had been almost half a year since she

returned, but she had not even seen the Green family in person.

The more she thought about it, the more frustrated she became. Amelia’s tone was a little dissatisfied.

    “Forget it. I don’t care.”

Seeing this, Emma’s mood became brighter. She leaned closer to Amelia and hugged her arm. “Mom,

it’s Olivia’s fault for noting, but we have to be well–prepared so that other families won’t

    misunderstand us.”

She talked like she cared about Olivia, “She probably doesn’t have much. money and never knows a

designer. It’s Grandpa’s birthday two dayster. She definitely won’t have time to prepare a good dress.

I still have a few gowns. Why don’t I give them to her?”

“You’re so kind, my good girl.” Amelia felt warm. The more she looked at Emma, the more she loved

this considerate daughter. She raised her hand and scratched her nose. “I know you’re a good girl, but

your gowns are all haute couture by international designers. They haven’t been worn yet. They’re

brand new. It’s a waste to let her wear them.”

At this point, Amelia paused for a moment. When she thought of the scene where Olivia was wearing a

white T–shirt and ck pants, she felt disgusted. “A good dress needs a good owner. Olivia doesn’t

know fashion. at all. It’s a waste for her to wear those custom–made gowns. Why don’t you keep them

    yourself?”

“But what about Olivia?” Emma sounded worried. “I don’t think she has a suitable gown. If she doesn’t

have one, she won’t even be able to enter the banquet. That would be so embarrassing!”

An image conjured up in Amelia’s mind. As the master’s granddaughter, Olivia would get blocked

outside because she did not have a suitable

    gown.

That’s a joke. No, she couldn’t let that happen.

Amelia said, “You should have some old clothes over there. Let her wear your old gown.”

“Alright.” Emma nodded. “I’ll get the servants to pack up a few more clothes for her selection.”

“She must be overjoyed!” Ameliaughed. “Your wardrobe is just like a treasure ind. She probably

has never seen such expensive clothes before.”

With that, Amelia made a call to Olivia.

Olivia had already returned home. It was not the apartment near the school, but the Smith family’s

    mansion in Evervale.

Since she had decided to take over the Smith family, she should learn to handle its businesses.

The Smith family’s mansion had been left idle for many years. Only some maids and nannies had been

living here to watch over it. Now that the new owner had arrived, the mansion seemed to get

revitalized, and all the servants were smiling at her arrival.

Olivia was reclining on the sofa with her eyes lowered. Her posture waszy. She was enjoying a rare

    moment of leisure.

In the spacious cloakroom, ke was leading the servants to pick out gowns for Olivia. These clothes

were all newly made by the Smith family’s workshop. These handmade clothes were the epitome of

exquisite skills and the current modern youthful style.

“Miss Olivia, how about this one? Do you like it?” ke picked out a

    it vouchers

modified ivory gown, with dark white stripes embroidered on it. At first look, people would think that it

was a pure–colored gown. When they got closer, they would discover the amazing embroidery.

This gown was madest year. It took five top embroiderers three years toplete the work.

Such a gown could no longer be called a dress, but a work of art, a masterpiece, and a priceless

    treasure.

A few years ago, the Sotheby’s had auctioned off a gown that cost an astronomical sum of 550

thousand dors. Half a million dors just for a gown! That gown was made by three of those five top

embroiderers. Olivia leaned against the sofa. When she heard this, she causally raised her eyelids and

    said expressionlessly, “It’s too simple.”

“What about this one?” ke picked out another one.

Olivia bent down. It was hard to tell if she was happy or angry. “Not good.” “Look at this.” ke chose

more than ten gowns. Some were traditional designs and some met current fashion trends. Every one

of these clothes could make Evervale’s socialites scream in surprise.

However, in Olivia’s eyes, these were just ordinary clothes. She had seen these things quite often

when she was young. Not a piece of them could attract her eyes.

At this moment, Olivia received a call from Amelia.

Amelia’s tone was colored by condescension. You don’t have any suitable gowns over there, right?

Emma has a few old clothes. Come here and take themter. They are all good gowns. You must be

spoiled for choices when you see them. Remember, just take one. Emma is a kind girl and this is her

idea. She shares them with you but you can’t go too far Good gowns? That’s funny!

Olivia held the phone in one hand and fiddled with the ivory gown with the other. she suddenly

chuckled. Thank you for your kindness, but t don’t need it.”

Without waiting for Amelia’s response, she hung up right
