At 11 p.m., just before Marco’s birthday party came to an end, Joy announced that she needed to
go to sleep before midnight. and politely said her goodbyes to Marco.

forest, using the nearby cars for support as he made his way to his SUV. He opened the door,
climbed inside, and sped away.

river and vowed never to provoke Joy again.
Meanwhile, sitting in Joy’s car, Marco asked in a hoarse voice, “Are… are you alright?”
Joy smiled. “I’m fine.”
Marco gulped. “How did those people… let you go? Should we call the police?”
“There’s no need to call the police,” Joy said with a smile. “I talked to them. They were persuaded,
and they let me go. I don’t think they’ll do anything bad again.”
