Chapter 21


    As soon as they got home, Copper and Draco excitedly approached them. They wanted to bring the


    two with them earlier but the two dogs were nowhere to be found.


    “Hey, buddy! Rafael said as he yed with them. “Want to go and y fetch?” Rafael ask as he get


    their ball on the cab. The two are happily waiting for him at the garden.


    “I’ll be in the kitchen if you need me.” Amber said to him.


    “Kitchen again?” Rafaelughed.

    “I’m thirsty.” Amber rolled her eyes.


    “Okay… okay… if you say so.” Rafael said. “I’ll go and y with the dogs.” He said and kissed her lips

    “Rafa!” She warned. He’s been kissing her all day.


    “Your lips are addicting, hon.” Rafael answered grinning widely making her sighed. Just then Copper


    and Draco barked. “Oh, they’re calling.” He said and went to see them.


    Amber sighed and entered the kitchen and saw Linda and Berta eating.


    “Good afternoon, ma’am.” They both greeted.


    “Good afternoon too.” She smiled.


    “Ma’am, you are a good cook.” Linda said. They may be housekeepers but the Andersons treated them


    as family, so they eat what the Andersons eat for a meal, unlike some other households who treated


    their housekeepers differently.


    “Thank you.” She smiled as she drinks water.


    “Do you need something, ma’am?” Berta asked when she opens the cab to check for ingredients.


    “Hmm? No, just keep on eating. I also don’t know what will I bake.” She said as she stares at the

    “What time will you leave tomorrow?” Allison asked Rafael when he told him about their ns. They


    are talking over dinner.


    “Around eight, mom.” Rafael answered. “We’re just going to help a friend in need.”


    “It is so sudden.” Nico said.


    “It is so that Danielle and Joshua can get married without a glitch. Joshua wanted that Danielle will


    have a fresh start when they get married.” He said.


    “Oh! Joshua is so sweet.” Allison said. “I’m happy for you and your friends. You are all starting to settle


    down now.”

    “How about Jon?” Allison asked.

    “But is it sure that it was his child?” Allison asked. “Jon is not the type of person that would cheat


    especially now that he is getting married.”


    “I know, mom, but a test has been done and it was really his.” Rafael said. “Samantha is also broken


    right now.”


    “But you know that results can be faked, right?” Nico said.


    “Yes, but Jon is determined to take responsibility.” Rafael sighed.


    “Oh, poor them.” Allison said. “I hope everything will be alright.”


    “I hope so.” Rafael said.


    “But do you really need to go?” Allison asked.

    TWO days passed with no Rafael felt like a year. Amber is sighing looking at the vast sky while sitting

    Allison gasps in surprise, she can’t believe what she is hearing. Rafael indeed is not someone that


    would tie his self to any woman and he even offered everything he has. It makes her wonder what was

    those things?


    “I declined the marriage at first, mom.” Amber continued. Allison can see the sadness in her eyes. “I


    confidently said that I could raise our child even without his help when I can’t even have a proper meal

    that painful memory. “I sold all of our properties, even the resort that was dear to my parents. I was


    basically left with nothing but other than some of the jewelries of my mother that I cannot sell, and that


    five million debt left.”


    “Oh, Amber…” Allison eximed and hug her, she’s not aware that behind those smiles, she’s suffering


    a lot.


    “I am so sorry, ma.” Amber said in between her sobs. “I was so guilty when you and dad Nico


    wholeheartedly epted me and you’ve been so kind to me.” She added. “And the guilt was always


    there especially when Rafael told me that you’ve experience a series miscarriage that having him is a


    miracle. I am so sorry.”


    “Hush… It’s okay, Amber.” Allison tried tofort her as she, herself is also crying. “Nico and I already


    had a hunch when Rafa suddenly get married, we already knew that there is something behind it.


    Rafael knew that when the timees that he will get married, we will throw a grand engagement


    party and a wedding because he is our only son. That is why when we learned that you’re pregnant, we

    “I am so sorry.” Amber apologized again.

    that you will terminate your pregnancy, but even if you said that because of the spur of moment, I am

    thinking that he might fall for someone else.”
