    Phoenix’s phone rang just then, cutting Axion off and snapping her out. She took out her phone and seeing it was Glinda calling, she stood up.


    ” Excuse me ” She left.


    ” Damn it! ” Axion grunted. Just when he was about to confessing his feelings for her.


    Phoenix came backter and resumed what she was doing.


    ” You wanted to tell me something ” She reminded and that made Axion’s heart skip again in nervousness. Should he tell her now or should he wait?

    No, now wasn’t the right time. Phoenix is only worried about him getting better and confessing now won’t make sense.


    ” I… just… erm wanted to say that.. erm… I missed you ” He said instead and Phoenix smiled at him.


    ” But I’m right here with you, why are you missing me then? ” She couldn’t help but ask.


    ” Maybe because I want you to stay by side till forever ” Axion mumbled and yep, that got Phoenix blushing.


    ” Can you stop flirting with me Axion? I will beat you up if you won’t stop ” She teased making Axionugh.


    ” Can you really do that, at this condition of mine? ” He raised a brow at her.


    ” You know I can’t so shut up and stop making me blush unnecessarily ” Phoenix blurted out without even realizing what she said. But the moment she did, she let out a gasp, ring at Axion who was alreadyughing hard


    ” You jerk! ” She jokingly raised her hand to hit him but Axion held it, pouting cutely.


    ” I’m done ” Phoenix announced. She was done bandaging his wounds.


    ” I have to go meet aunt Glinda ” She revealed and Axion frowned at her.


    ” Why? ”


    ” There is something she wants to tell me ”


    ” She cane here and say it herself, why stress your life? ”


    ” No. I need to go there myself ” Phoenix answered, standing up.


    ” Then who’s going to stay here with me? ” Axion protested and she turn to him.


    ” I’d be gone for just few hours, it’s not like I’m spending the night there ”


    ” But…”


    ” Don’t worry, Axion ” Phoenix held his face.


    ” I’d be back in a jiffy, I promise ” She assured but Axion looked away, not bulging in. He doesn’t know why he is having a bad feeling about letting Phoenix go. What if Corbin or Medusa tries attacking again?


    ” Please ” Phoenix pouted and Axion let out a sigh.


    ” Fine. But be careful ande back quick, ok? ”


    ” Ok ” Phoenix helped himy back down.


    ” I’ll ce everything you’d need on the table so you don’t have to stress yourself that much,” She said and took the tray and bowl out.


    She hurriedly took her bath and dressed up. She walked up to Axion who was already fast asleep. cing a deep kiss on his forehead,


    ” I’d be right back. Take care of yourself ” She mumbled and left.

    Hours passed and Phoenix isn’t back yet. Axion woke up, feeling a lot better. He was now stronger, strong enough to climb down the bed on his own, still wrapped in bandages.


    He looked over to the table and saw a ss of water and juice, a sk, and medicines all lined up on it and that made him smile. He reached out for the ss of water and drank it slowly.


    While he was doing that, he felt something… no someone. There was someone in the room with him. It was a familiar scent, one he could recognize anywhere. The scent of his one enemy…


    ” What are you doing here, Medusa? ” He demanded and that was when Medusa, who was in camouge, finally showed herself. She had a wide grin on her lips as she stared at Axion who was scowling at her.


    ” Oh, my dear Axion. What happened to you? ” It was a mocking question which got Axion rolling his eyes, cing the cup back on the table.


    ” Corbin did all this to you, right? ”


    ” So you know about it already? ” Axion scoffed and stood up from the bed.


    ” Of course. I am Medusa, remember? And I… know everything ” Medusa smirked.


    ” Why are you here and what do you want? ”


    ” Good thing you asked ” She chuckled, closing the distance between her and Axion, who grimaced seeing the mischievous smirk on her lips. She was up to no good, he’s sure of that.


    ” I came for you, Axion. To kill you ” Medusa revealed, not wanting to beat about the bush.


    Axion became alerted as Medusa’s ws grew out and her eyes turned purple. He stepped away from her immediately.


    ” Stay away, Medusa ” He warned making Medusaugh.


    ” Or else what? You’d kill me? You know you can’t even fight me because you still haven’t recovered yet. You’re so vulnerable and so are your powers. Otherwise, will you think I came to kill you now? ”

    Medusa is right. He can’t defend himself from her in this state because he is still weak both in his physical strength and magical powers. He can barely even stand on his own.


    Looking over at the widely opened door, an idea popped up. He grabbed the empty ss cup and threw it at Medusa but made sure to miss. Using the cup to distract her, he ran off to the door, ignoring the pain that went down him.


    And just when he was about to dash out, the door mmed close on its own making him flinch back. It was actually Medusa’s doing and Axion turned to re at her.


    Using her powers, she drew Axion back to herself, clenching her neck tight like she wanted to strangle him.


    ” Trying to run away, my dear son? ” She asked. Axion struggled to break free from her grip, his face turning red due tock of air.


    ” Well… you can leave then! ” Medusa hurled him to the door and he bashed at it with force, breaking it and crouching to the floor. A loud groan left his lips as his wounds opened up and started bleeding. Chuckling, Medusa jogged to him while he was trying to get up.


    She grabbed his hair and yank his head up to look her in the eye.


    ” I am going to kill you, the same way I did to your brother ” Shock went down Axion and his eyes widened.


    Corbin is dead?


    He immediately pushed Medusa off, standing to his feet. But Medusa, using her power, pulled him to the wall, banging his face on it. She did so up to four times while Axion groaned in pain until his nose started bleeding before she let go of him.


    Axion staggered back to the stairs, trying to get a grip on himself. He wanted to fight back but couldn’t gather his powers. Medusa sent a strong force to him which made his leg slip and he rolled down the stairs, from the first to thest of it.


    Axion yelled out in intense pain, his bandages already soaked in his blood. He was weakened, even more, finding it nearly impossible to get back up.


    ” Mom, stop what you’re doing. I am still your son! ” It came out low and Medusa snorted, appearing before him. She grabbed his arm and pulled him up.


    ” Son… ” She smirked.


    ” How about we do it the Dark Genie way? ” She waved her ws before Axion who understood immediately what she wanted to do.


    ” How is it that you want to kill your own blood, Medusa? ” Axion mumbled in disbelief. He is still finding it hard to believe that a mother would want to kill her sons.


    ” I… fucking… don’t… care! ” Medusa howled and made to gnaw her ws into Axion’s heart when,


    ” Let the go of my mate… now! ” A voice thundered making the whole ce vibrate. Both Medusa and Axion turned, only to see Phoenix standing not so far from them.


    Her eyes were burning in furry, her ne and hair tie glowing brightly and her hands circled with fire. Beside her was Glinda who was ring at Medusa with an arrow and bow in her hands


    ” Oh and his Phoenix is here ” Medusaughed and let go of Axion, turning to face Phoenix fully.


    ” Let Axion go and face me, Medusa! ” Phoenix dared.


    ” Oh really? ” Medusa sneered.


    ” You know, I’d rather fight Axion in his weak state than fight you, Phoenix. At least he is still a Dark Genie, whereas you… are nothing but a wussy Phoenix and fighting you… is more like an insult to me ”


    ” Is it that you don’t want to fight me or that you just can’t fight me cause you know… that you don’t measure up to me ” Medusa frowned deeply at what Phoenix said.


    Is she indirectly calling her weak?


    ” I think I’d go with the second option ” Phoenix huffed.


    ” Forget that you are a Dark Genie, you can’t stand me. If you can… then I’m right here in front of you. Fight me if can Medusa! ” She challenged and Medusa was already boiling in anger.


    She fucking hates being challenged by anyone. She is Medusa and no one can stand her. And since Phoenix had the guts to dare her… she is effing going to pay.


    ” Fine then. The battle line is drawn, Phoenix ” She epted, ring at Phoenix who smirked.


    But Axion didn’t like the sound of that. He can’t just stay and watch Phoenix battle Medusa. She will kill her and he can’t lose her.


    ” Phoenix ” He called and Phoenix nced at him. Seeing the pain he was trying to hide in his eyes and the blood all over him, Phoenix’s anger only tripled. She has never felt like killing Medusa the way she wants to right now.
