Chapter 29: Daddy Has Returned


    Caroline weed her children with a big embrace and asked, "Both of you, how was your day in the


    kindergarten?"


    "Mom, I''m furious today!"


    Corinne puffed her little face andined, "One of my ssmates was very annoying!"


    "What''s the matter?"


    Caroline hurriedly crouched down and asked gently.


    Corinne pouted and replied, "That bad ssmate of mine imed that I don''t have a father! I told him


    that Dad only went to Antarctica to be a scientist and feed penguins.I also mentioned that he would


    return once the baby penguins have grown!"


    Caroline choked up her breath, but she still smiled gently, "Yes, Dad wille back after he had fed


    the penguins"


    She hugged Corinne while she drew Charles inside the car.


    The two children were salivating for dumplings when they passed a snack store.


    Because of that, Caroline asked the driver to stop the vehicle and park for a minute.


    She then went to the store with her children and bought two boxes of colorful dumplings.


    In that wilderness, the vi remained alone.


    Caroline only found outter after a man purchased a nearby estate.


    If nobody did that, the mansion would be lonely alone.


    As soon as they arrived, both Corinne and Charles ran towards the vi.


    Caroline smiled as she followed them and reminded, "Corinne, be careful.You might fall! Charles, lead


    your sister.Don''t run so fast."


    She opened the vi’s door as she spoke.


    Caroline suddenly had the weird feeling that something was wrong when she changed her shoes.She


    then went into the bedroom to change her clothes but she stopped as soon as she opened the door.


    The curtains were open which allowed the bright sunlight to invade the entirety of the bedroom.


    A tall man stood straight in front of the window with his back to her.


    Even only with his silhouette could Caroline tell who he was.


    Her heartbeat instantly elerated as she moved closer to him, step by step.


    He slowly turned around and stared at her with a deep gaze.


    Caroline looked up at him nkly.


    All she could think of was the familiar scent that she hadn''t smelled in three years.


    He looked down at her and said in a familiar low captivating voice, "Caroline, I''ve found a miracle- With


    that, Caroline''s eyes welled up with tears while the man embraced her tightly and said, "Oh right, I


    forgot to introduce myself.My name is Augustus Windsor"


    She looked up at him through tears and responded, "Where have you been? I''ve been waiting for you


    for three long years"


    He lowered his head and kissed her cheek softly.


    "My apologies, miss.You don''t have to worry now.I won''t leave again."


    Just as she was about to respond, she heard two footsteps.


    When Charles and Corinne ran to the door, they witnessed how the unfamiliar man hugged their


    mother.


    Immediately, the two little fellows put their arms around their waist and said fiercely, "Who are you? Let


    go of my mother!"


    "Trespassing, I''ll call the police!"


    Only then did Caroline react and hurriedly came out of Augustus''s embrace.


    She knelt down and held the two little fellows in her arms.


    "Charles, Corinne, meet your father"


    Corinne stared at Augustus with her eyes wide open.


    Charles only looked at the tears on his mom''s cheeks and said, "Mom, why are you crying? Did he


    bully you?"


    Caroline chuckled and said, "No, honey.He did not harm me.I''m only crying because I am


    delighted.Mom just couldn''t contain her happiness now that dad''s back"
