The next two months.


    “Nick, I think you shoulde home soon. Your face looks really pale now,” Edward suggested. They had just returned from a meeting outside the office.


    Nichs sighed deeply while continuing to massage his temples. For some reason, since yesterday, he had been feeling unwell. Now, it even felt worse than before.


    “I can’t, Ed. I need to finish my tasks soon. I have only a week left before I really move from Alpha Beta and take care of Rayder Corp,” Nichs replied, still holding his forehead.


    Edward shook his head vigorously. He was very certain that his friend’s condition was not okay at the moment. He was just afraid that something bad might happen to Nichs.


    “In that case, I’ll get you some hot tea.” Edward then got up and walked quickly to the pantry. He grabbed a cup of tea and brought it immediately to Nichs’s room, handing it over.


    “Drink it quickly. After this, I’ll help you finish all your tasks so you can go home early.”


    Nichs nodded and reached for the cup Edward offered, quickly taking a sip. Afterward, they both got busy catching up on pending tasks.


    While they were engrossed in analyzing marketing graphs, suddenly, Nichs stood up from his chair and rushed to the bathroom. Edward heard clearly that his friend was vomiting multiple times. Even when he returned to his seat, his condition seemed to be getting worse.


    “I think I caught a cold,” thought Nichs while wiping his face with a tissue. He then sipped the warm tea in front of him.


    “Wait a minute…” said Edward. “… you and Kimberly have been married for two months now, I’m sure you’ve had marital rtions several times, right? Could it be that Kimberly is pregnant now, that’s why your body condition is like this?”


    “Uhuk …”


    Hearing Edward’s words, Nichs immediately choked on the tea he was drinking. It didn’t take long for him to respond. “What does Kimberly being pregnant have to do with my current condition, Ed?”


    “Of course, it does, Nick. You’re her husband, she might be pregnant, but you’re the one craving for something,” Edward quipped with a serious expression.

    Upon hearing Edward’sst sentence, Nichs immediately threw the pen that was on the table. “Don’t talk nonsense. I can’t imagine Kimberly being pregnant with a yboy like you!”


    “Don’t be mistaken, Kimberly would probably be proud to have a child with a wealthy nobleman like me.”


    “Nonsense!” Nichs replied angrily. “I think I should go home. If I stay here listening to your nonsense for too long, I might go crazy,” Nichs concluded, greeted by Edward’s heartyughter.


    “I’ll drive you home. It’s not safe to drive in your current condition,” Edward suggested.


    Nichs sighed and nodded in agreement. His condition was not good at all right now.


    Once they arrived home, they found Arthur sitting on the porch, reading a book. After marrying Kimberly, they had decided to live together in Arthur’s residence, considering the older man’s often unstable condition.


    Exiting the car, from his seated position, Arthur greeted both Nichs and Edward in turn. Don’t be surprised; he had be a much more pleasant and less annoying man than before.


    “Why are you back so soon?” Arthur asked when he saw Nichs and Edward arrive at home.


    “It seems Nichs is not feeling well, Mr. Arthur. That’s why he asked me to take him home,” Edward exined.


    Arthur nodded and then resumed his book. While Nichs went inside, Edward thought about bidding farewell to Arthur before actually leaving.


    “Mr. Arthur…” Edward called, making the old man shift his focus to him.


    “I’ll take my leave now.”


    “Why the rush? Come inside; let’s have lunch together. It’s already lunchtime, isn’t it?” Arthur offered. He had already risen from his seat. “No need to be shy.”


    Ufortable with declining, Edward eventually agreed and followed Arthur as he made his way to the dining room. There, Nichs and Kimberly were already getting ready for lunch.


    “Why are you back so soon?” Nichs asked in surprise.


    “Grandpa invited him to have lunch with us,” Arthur replied, immediately receiving a nod of agreement from Nichs.


    The four of them eventually got lost in conversation while enjoying their lunch. Edward, known for being talkative, dominated the conversation.


    “Back then, I even thought you were so evil, Mr. Arthur. You acted like an Italian mafia, back then,” Edward confessed.


    Arthurughed heartily. He couldn’t count how many times he hadughed hearing Edward’sints.


    “You were too sensitive. Everyone who didn’t know me probably thought I was arrogant and even cunning. But I was just being myself.”


    While taking bites of his food, Edward nodded in agreement. “I even thought about giving you poison because I was frustrated with your relentless efforts to keep Nichs and Kimberly apart. As their true friend, I felt sorry for them.”


    Hearing Edward’s confession, Arthur was surprised and choked on his food. But instead of getting angry, the old man burst intoughter once again. And so it continued until they finished their meal.

    “Nick…”


    Kimberly’s sigh echoed in Nichs’s ears. He always loved hearing her say his name with such passion, just like now.


    “Yes, darling. What else do you want?” Nichs asked, while continuing to tease her with sensual kisses on her neck and other parts of Kimberly’s body.


    Nichs’s hands were already exploring every inch. Touching all the sensitive spots, rendering Kimberly powerless.


    “Nick…” Kimberly swallowed hard, trying to stay focused as Nichs continued to seduce her.


    “Tell me, Kimberly. What do you want?” Nichs asked in a husky voice.


    Struggling to contain her desire, Kimberly tried to answer, “I want you, please.”


    Nichs grinned, then resumed nting kisses on every inch of his wife’s body. Meanwhile, Kimberly could only close her eyes and enjoy the intoxicating touches he was giving her.


    Kimberly continued to revel in how her husband slowly united their bodies. Embracing tightly. Allowing sweat to drench their bodies. Teasing each other until the climax finally arrived.


    For a few moments, the two of them remained locked in each other’s arms. Then, after a while, Nichs slowly slid down from Kimberly’s body. Hey down next to her.

    Upon hearing these words, Kimberly, who had been hugging Nichs, suddenly unwrapped her embrace and scooted down from the bed. Still in her natural state, she hurried to the bathroom and returned with something to show Nichs.


    While Nichs, initially puzzled and just observing, adjusted his position. He then reached for the pink ribbon-wrapped box that Kimberly offered.


    “What’s this?” Nichs asked, confused.


    “You have to see it.”


    Nichs then opened the box in his hands, discovering a long white object that he recognized as a pregnancy test. As his eyes focused on the screen at the end of the device disying two red lines, Nichs was taken aback.


    “You’re pregnant? Are you really pregnant, Kimberly?” Nichs asked in disbelief.


    Kimberly nodded, and momentster, Nichs immediately embraced Kimberly tightly, hugging her with all his might.


    “Oh God, I truly love you, sweetheart.”


    Tears of joy apanied both of them. Who would have thought that Kimberly, who was initially diagnosed with fertility issues, could be pregnant in the early stages of their marriage? When God’s hand is at work, who can resist His power?


    “No wonder I’ve been feeling like I’m drunk these past few days. Edward kept saying that I was going through a craving phase. I just didn’t believe him,” Nichs confided about his recent experiences.


    “Is that so? I only mustered the courage to check this morning. I’m happy, Nick. Very happy.” Kimberly then hugged Nichs again.


    Nichs and Kimberly knew for sure that there were many ups and downs and obstacles they had to face to unite their love story. It all started by ident, and the seeds of love eventually sprouted.


    Nichs never even remotely thought of having a romantic rtionship with his own secretary. Likewise, Kimberly had the same idea. The foolish bet she made with her two friends ended up dragging her feelings far away. Until she truly fell in love with the CEO who had been known for his coldness.


    When love between them began to grow, they couldn’t immediately live together. Misunderstandings temporarily separated Nichs and Kimberly. Arthur’s interference, intentionally trying to keep them apart, made everything even moreplicated and tangled.
