A pleasant surprise

    Sofie’s POV

“Wow, ma’am. You look really pretty in that outfit. Red is really your color.” Natalie gushed as I walked down the stairs.

It was the day Roman and I were going on a date.

I felt really nervous because that was my first date ever, and I didn’t want to mess things up.

Iughed, gazing down at my outfit which consisted of a strapless red silk figure-hugging dress that stopped just above my knees, coupled with silver heels paired with a silver clutch bag.

I also essorized the outfit with the engagement ring and cartier braceletbo while my hair freely fell on my shoulder, in brown, loose curls.

    “You think?” I chuckled.

“Yes of course, ma’am. The color entuates your beautiful, spotless skin. You are really stunning, madam Sofie. I’m sure the young master will be blown away when he sees you.” She said, shaking her head as she eyed me in awe.

“Thanks for thepliment. It really means a lot, by the way, where is Melissa?” I asked, ncing around the room for the older woman.

“She has a family emergency, so the young master gave her the rest of the week off.”

“Oh. Alright then.” I nodded before turning to the chauffeur.

“The young master is waiting, madam.” He said, and I felt a whirlpool of butterflies at the pit of my belly.

“Let’s go.” I muttered, and he led the way outside.

I tried to suppress the guilt tanging my conscience as I trekked out.

I was in no position to be happy that I was going on a date with Roman when he had indirectly rejected my pregnancy yesterday, but here I was, all dolled up like a stupid fool.N?velDrama.Org copyrighted ? content.

I had no idea what I was supposed to do at that moment, but abortion was out of my options because no matter how I tried to convince myself that it was probably the best solution, I just couldn’t make the appointment.

I couldn’t kill a poor child who did nothing wrong.

It was my mistake, and I’d have to deal with the consequences of my action without murdering them.

Sost night, I had reached a conclusion to leave the city as soon as the contract ended. Roman would probably hate me for taking such a drastic decision, without informing him but I had to do what I had to do to protect my child.

But I hoped he’d forgive me in the end.

My mncholic thoughts temporarily evaporated for a brief moment, as I beheld the “car” that was going to convey Roman and I to our date.

Before I could utter a word, Roman stepped out of the “car” and froze with his face instantly bing devoid of emotions as he nkly stared at me.

I nced at my outfit, uncertainty pooling in my guts as I wondered whether Natalie had lied to me earlier, and I didn’t look as stunning as she had assured me.

“Is it that bad?” I squeaked, smoothening the dress.

His expression creased into a smile and a shudder of relief raced through my spine, maybe it wasn’t that bad.

“Bad? You look enthralling, cara. You held me spellbound for a good five minutes.” He said, walking up to me, and casually flinging an arm around my waist.

“You look dapper yourself.” Iplimented, taking in the gorgeous sight of him d in a ck three-piece-suit with a ck tie to match.

    “Thanks, my love.”

“Really, Roman? A limousine?” I muttered as he pressed a kiss to my shoulder.

He had really gone out of his way to bring a limo from heaven knows where just for a date.

“You don’t like it too, right? I knew I should have gotten the Porsche instead of this. It’s bing toomon.” He mumbled against my skin, which made me pull away to look into his eyes.

“No, I don’t mean it like that. I’m just saying a limo is too much for just a date, don’t you think?” I said, to which he chuckled before pressing a chaste kiss to my lips.

“You’re so adorable, cara. Nothing is too much for a date with you, my love. This is not even up to a million, so it’s definitely not too much. Plus, the limo dealer is a close friend of mine, so he gave me a twelve percent discount.” Roman rambled, and I just shook my head before tiptoeing to pull him into a hug, so he wouldn’t see the tears clouding my vision.

The thought that I was going to leave him without a word very soon made immense remorse and despair gue my mind.

“You don’t have to do all these for me, Roman. I’m serious.” I whispered, feeling a lump of tears hitch my throat.

He chuckled as we disengaged from the hug and he caressed my cheeks, “I’ll dly do all these and more for you, amore.”

“Thanks for loving me, Roman.” I muttered and he just kissed me.

“I should be saying that to you, cara. Thanks for finding me worthy of your love. I love you.”

    “I love you more, babe.”

Babe. The term sounded pleasant yet strange on my tongue.

Roman just darted me a smile before gesturing to the chauffeur and taking my hand.

“Let’s be on our way now.” He said, as the driver flung the door to the limousine open and we climbed in.

The interior of the limousine oozed sophisticated elegance, wealth and ss.

I really couldn’t believe Roman bought a whole limousine for a date, like it was nothing.

“There’s wine over there, would you like to have some?” He asked as I felt the vehicle move.

I shook my head as my hand unconsciously spread over my abdomen, “No, I’m good.”

    “Okay, baby.”

“So where are we going for our date?” I asked as Roman ced his hand on my exposed thigh.

“It’s a surprise, doll. Telling you will ruin it.” He muttered, his hand straying upward, underneath my dress.

    I huffed, “Very well then.”

    And he justughed.

About an hourter, we got to the venue and I was further left stunned by the mammoth size and exquisite decoration of the ce.

It was a Michelin star restaurant with fancy menus coupled with conical, crystalline chandeliers illuminating dim, white lights to set a romantic mood and an evenrger interior size.

    Money was really good.

“Wow.” I whispered as Roman intertwined our hands.

    “Do you like it?”

“Like? I love this ce, it’s absolutely beautiful!”

    “Great, I’m d. I was worried you wouldn’t.”

Something was strange about the ce though, there was no one inside except us and some waiters.

“There are no customers in here.” I muttered as a waiter led us to our table.

“Yes, I can see that.” Roman didn’t sound fazed in the slightest bit, which made me look up at him; he had a mischievous smile curving his lips.

Realization hit me and I gasped, “Don’t tell me you rented this restaurant out for our date.”

“Fine. I won’t tell you because you already said it.” He said and I yfully hit his chest.

    “Roman.” I groaned.

“I don’t want any form of disturbance. I want us to have today to just ourselves alone without people staring.” He shrugged, , and I leaned in to kiss him with a newly-found resolve etched in my mind.

I would do my best to enjoy today and the rest of the contact’s duration, to make him unsuspicious of my ns, and when he least expected it, I would disappear without a trace from his life.
