    40 Tell It Like It Is


    Amelia POV


    “Are you ready to get out of here, Luna” the doctor asks when he walks into my room. “Absolutely,


    considering I wanted to go homest night.” He smiles and takes onest set of vital signs before he


    officially discharges me. We are meeting with everyone today about Lucas and As. I want that sorry


    excuse for a wolf out of our lives before our son actually arrives. Lincoln brought me a light blue


    sundress and a pair of sandals. I grab my fresh clothes from him after I give him a kiss and head into


    the bathroom to get dressed. I feel like my bump has grown just in thest few days as I look in the


    mirror. Once I feel human again, I pull my hair into a high ponytail. I walk out and Lincoln’s eyes light


    up. “You look beautiful, my love.” He wraps his arms around me. “I can’t wait to make you Luna in front


    of the pack today finally.” I never expected to be a Luna but I’m excited to lead our pack by Lincoln’s


    side. He gets down onto his knees with his face to my belly. “Little bean, I can’t wait to meet you and


    love you.” “You are my son and the next Alpha of the Nightfire pack.” I can feel the tears in my eyes at


    this man’s words. I would never take back anything that’s happened because it led me to him. He was


    my destiny, I truly believe that in my heart.


    He stands and wipes the tears off my cheeks. “I love you Amelia Thomas and I will in this life and the


    next.” The warmth that spreads through my body when he calls me using his surname is indescribable.


    Thest piece of me that was a connection to him is officially gone. “I love you Lincoln, more than you


    will ever know.” He takes my face in his and kisses me with all the love we have between us. He pulls


    back when we are both breathless and ces his forehead against mine. After a few moments, he


    takes my hand, leading me out of the pack hospital toward the pack house. Once we’re inside he starts


    to lead me toward the stairs but I stop him. “Lincoln, can you do something for me.” He turns with


    concern on his face. “Absolutely love, anything.” “Take me to see Jenn.” “Amelia” he says and I can


    already tell he is about to oppose my request. “Lincoln, she is in a cell and you are with me.” “I want to


    say my peace to her.” “Love I know she can’t physically hurt you but what about her words.” I put my


    hand on his face. “Her words are just that, they mean nothing to me.” “I need her to know that evil


    doesn’t win.” “That you and I are going to live a happy life and she won’t.” He takes a deep breath and I


    can tell that he isn’t happy about his decision. He takes my hand, leading me through the kitchen to a


    door that has a guard standing next to it.


    Lincoln POV


    “Alpha” the guard greets me as he looks concerned that Amelia is standing next to me. “Please open


    the door so we may go down to the cells.” He seems to pause for a minute before he does as I ask. I


    feel the same way but I can’t say that to him. I know how strong Amelia is but I don’t want anything


    stressing her out after that b**ch Maureen tried to make her go intobor. I lead her down the stairs and


    we walk down a long hall to thest cell. When Jenn sees me she jumps up with a smile on her face.


    She really is a delusional b**ch. If it wasn’t for Amelia, she would be dead already. When she told me


    that she was helping that f**ker As and her parents, I wanted to rip her head off her body. Amelia


    made me promise to keep her in the cells till our pup is born. As soon as she sees Amelia by my side,


    she smirks at her. “I see your still carrying that little ba**ard.” I roar at her words and Talon is ready to


    say hell with it and kill her. Amelia’s touch is the only thing that stops that from happening.

    “Our son, the next Alpha of the Nightfire pack, is just fine” Amelia says. The smirk falls from Jenn’s face


    and she looks at me. “You are making a mistake taking on that wh*re and her ba**ard pup.” “I would


    hold your tongue because I’m about to forget the promise I made to my Luna and snap your f**king


    neck.” The hurt shes across her face at my words. She thought she was alive because of me when it


    was Amelia’s doing. Amelia steps in front of me. “That’s right Jenn, Lincoln was going to kill you but I


    stopped him.” /”Make no mistake it wasn’t because I’m having mercy on you.” “I n to be the one to


    end you after I have my pup.” “So, getfortable and count your days because they are numbered.”


    Sheughs and I wrap my arms around Amelia to keep myself under control. “Amelia, you are thest


    person on this that I’m afraid of so I can’t wait.” “When I kill you, Lincoln will finally see who the


    true Luna of this pack is.” I can’t help myself I step around Amelia grabbing her neck through the bars.


    Her eyes get big and I squeeze just enough to let her know how close to death she really is. “You will


    die by Amelia’s hands and I will throw your body outside this pack so the rogues can feed on you.” “You


    are nothing to me or this pack you b**ch.” I drop her to the ground and turn pulling Amelia into me. I


    bury my head in the crook of her neck, breathing in her scent to calm both me and Talon. “I love you,


    Lincoln.” “Her words mean nothing.” I pull back kissing her forehead. I take her hand “you ba**ard, it


    was supposed to me.” “You were supposed to love me, not her.” I don’t even respond to her delusional


    statement. Once we are back upstairs, the guard locks the door and I head into the dining room to get


    Amelia something to eat. Once she is at the table with my parents, I go up to get our food. I’m setting


    thest bit of eggs on my te when I get a link from the guard at the gates. “Alpha Walker along with


    the warriors have returned and they have rogues with them.” I can hear the disdain in his voice and I do


    not like it. “You show our guests to my office now.” “Yes Alpha” he says.


    I head over to the table, setting Amelia’s te down in front of her. “Amelia, Walker is at the gate and


    he has rogues with him.” “I have the guards bringing them to our office.” She stands as I knew she


    would and I smile. She is the perfect Luna. “Amelia dear, you need to eat” my mother says. She leans


    down hugging my mother. “I promise I’ll eat.” She picks up her te and I take it from her. We head


    upstairs and when we reach the office, I set it down on the table. I cover both the tes to keep them


    warm and we take a seat behind the desk. A knock sounds and the guard leads them inside. I can tell


    by the look on Walker’s face that I was right about the guard’s behavior. “Anthony, no matter the rank of


    a visitor, they are to be treated with respect, am I clear.” He drops his head “yes Alpha.” He turns


    toward the women “my apologies.” The two women nod and I notice the little girl sticks her tongue out


    at him. I chuckle to myself.


    Walker POV


    Once we are in the office, I offer the seats to Maureen and Judith. They both sit and Maureen pulls


    Penny onto herp. “Alpha, As haspletely lost it and he knows that Elder James is alive.” He


    waits and I continue. I tell him everything that happened, including him almost killing me. Amelia looks


    at me with concern. “You need to be checked at the pack hospital.” I raise my hand to assure her that I


    don’t need to go to the hospital. “I’m fine Luna, I promise.” I lift my shirt to show her the area that is


    completely healed. Both the Luna and Alpha look like they can’t believe what I’m saying. “I understand


    why you did what you did to protect Jacob.” “I would do the same for my own men” Alpha Lincoln says.


    “I think the warriors have realized who As really is.” “They are the only reason we are here right


    now.” I hear Penny whisper to her mom about how big Lincoln is and I chuckle. I forgot to introduce


    them with all I needed to share about As.


    “Alpha I’m sorry I didn’t even introduce you.” “Alpha and Luna this is Maureen, Penny, and Judith.”


    “As had locked them in the cells for being to close to the pack territory.” I don’t say anything about


    what Maureen did for me because that is her story to tell. “It sounds as though As is quickly losing


    his grip” Alpha Lincoln says. “I believe he ns to attack and we will fight by your side if you let us.” “Of


    course, Walker, you and the men are wee to stay here.” “I will tell you this, there is coven that is


    targeting our pack.” “We will fight beside you Alpha Lincoln after all you have done for us” I say as I


    look around at the men with me who are nodding. “We will be having a meeting about both Lucas and


    As this afternoon if you and the men would like to join us. ” “Absolutely, what about Maureen and her


    family.” Lincoln looks at his Luna and smiles. The Luna stands andes around to the front of the


    desk. She looks beautiful with the child growing inside her. Penny turns to look at her with wide eyes.


    Maureen POV


    I feel like we are intruding on a private conversation as they talk about threats to their pack. I have


    never seen an Alpha wolf so willing to ept non-pack members and offer them help. When the Luna


    comes around the desk, she is very pregnant. Penny turns and hops off myp before I can stop her.


    “Do you have a pup in there” she says pointing at her belly. The Luna smiles “yes I do, do you want to


    feel him?” Penny jumps up and down like she offered her a million dors. “Yes please” she says, and


    Luna leads her over to the couch. They both sit and she puts Penny’s hand on her belly. I smile at my


    innocent little pup. “Mama, he’s moving” she says as she smiles. I’m just about to answer her when a


    knock sounds on the door of the office. The door opens and I hear a growl that scares the hell out of


    me. I rush over to Penny, scooping her up before I hear the word “Mate.” My head whips in his direction


    and I smile.
