    “Zane! I’m going crazy here! You must help me find her”.


    I can’t contain myself, I need my mate, desperately. She had promised to stay with me, yet when I awoke at noon, she was gone. There wasn’t a ce in this pack where I didn’t look for her until the guard came to tell me she had driven off in her car.


    I can not believe she did this to me! After she gave herself to mest night, unconditionally and uncensored. We made love as I’ve never experienced before, we were starving, we pushed each other to the limits until we almost dropped dead. And then she has the gut to abandon me, without any exnation.


    At first, she wanted to reject me, but I stopped her on time. Her reaction afterward during our lovemaking was so intense, I thought she hadpletely changed her mind. But still, she chose to leave me.

    Zane is still in Midnight Moon with Mercedes. He was supposed to be back today but told me that unexpected circumstances kept him with his mate for another day. Definitely that ass of an Alpha son again.


    That scum continues to challenge Zane, does not want to ept that Mercedes is off-limits. Luckily that wille to an end next year when my little Luna finally turns eighteen andes to live in Midnight Moon permanently.


    But my mate is also from Midnight Moon. Perhaps Zane can already tell Alpha Ahri that Saphira is my mate and prepare him for her departure. All the years I’ve been at that pack to pick up or take back Mercedes after an overnight weekend here, I’ve been missing out on Saphira. Her name was mentioned a few times, but I didn’t feel the need for friendships with members of Silver Moon. Their Alpha son irritates me immensely, so I distance myself from his subjects as well. Excluding my Luna Mercedes, of course.


    I need Zane’s help.


    It will take me at least three hours to reach the pack and I don’t know what my mate is up to in the meantime. Zane, along with Mercedes, must reassure Saphira and console her until I arrive.     “If you take a deep breath, you can start exining to me who to find,” Zane advises me on the other end of the telephone line. “Be clear and quick, Beta!” he asks impatiently. It’s still early, Zane isn’t much of a morning person, just like his mate. And if they got to it against night, I know his mood is now on point zero.


    “My mate! Man, she left without notifying me. The guard saw her drive away. I need her back, Zane. I can’t go on without her. You know how much I longed for her the past years”, I exin to him desperately. I hear him holding his breath.


    “Your mate? Did you find her? Man, that’s awesome! Where should I find her for you?” he sounds wide awake now.


    And I tell him all, about my meeting with Saphira, from start to finish. How she wasn’t really excited when we first met, she even tried to reject me butter was hot on me. She allowed me to take her virginity and then had breathtaking sex with me. But left before I woke up this evening, I tell him, pained.


    “And you say she’s from Silver Moon?” asks Zane again. “She came to our pack to visit her Alpha son’s mate, you said. Are you sure about this, Jace?” I’m not in the mood to talk about that loser Alpha, all I want right now is to find my mate.


    “Zane, please go to her and ask her to wait for me to arrive. Ask Mercedes to keep her busy until I get there, please”, I beg.


    “No problem, man! Take the helicopter and you will be here in fifteen minutes. I’ll fix this, don’t you worry. If possible, I ask her to call you to exin. Maybe it’s not as bad as you think,” he tries to reassure me. But in vain.


    I quickly shower while instructing the pilot in the mind link to prepare for departure to Silver Moon. I also inform Head Warrior Cleo and Gamma Kenry of my leave. They will be in charge now that both Zane and I are absent.


    I quickly take a ck shirt and pants out of my walk-in closet and put them on. With a few strokes of my hand through my hair, I step out of my bedroom, unshaven. The car is already waiting to take me to the pack’s airstrip, where the Heli is waiting.


    Absentminded I greet the pilot and ten minutester, we take off. The weather is nice, so I expect a smooth flight. When wend at the airstrip in Silver Moon, I can already see Zane and Mercedes waiting for me, leaning on his car. Their faces are concerned, which causes me to slightly panic. This looks like bad news.


    Wend and I jump out of the Heli, rushing to my Alpha and Luna.


    “Zane! Did you meet her? Is she willing toe back to our pack?” I ask urgently. Mercedes doesn’t dare look me in the eye and I know that the next thing my best friend and Alpha will say to me is going to be my worst nightmare.


    “She didn’te back here. The border patrol saw her leaving yesterday, but she hasn’t returned,” Zane says, clutching my shoulder.
