Chapter 14: Heat
Ashley entered her room annoyed, "What the hell is wrong with Anna?" She questioned herself as she
searched through her closest looking for something to wear as Jay was heading over to pick her up.
"Hey, you still haven''t answered my question," Jake unexpectedly asked, startling Ashley, who quickly
turned around, "When the hell did you get in here?" She asked as Jake shrugged while taking a seat
on her bed, "You didn''t answer my question," He repeated as Ashley rolled her eyes, "Out, and
speaking of out, you need to leave," she said as Jake scoffed before walking over to her draws.

here?" He asked as Ashely continued to organize herself, "Jay!" She said unknowingly as the name
made Jake''s blood boil, "What the f**k is he doing here?" He asked standing upon his feet.
"He''s taking me out, Jake," she replied turning to face him, "Hell, he is, Jake said before exiting
Ashley''s room, with her hot on his tail, "JAKE! STOP!" She yelled, but at this point, Jake had muted her
out as he exited through the front door.
As Jake furiously exited the house, Jay too exited his car expecting to meet Ashely but locked eyes
with Jake, who stormed towards him, "DIDN''T I TELL YOU TO STAY THE F**K AWAY FROM HER?"
Jake yelled storming towards Jay, whose eyes widened as he wasn''t expecting this, "JAKE, GET
BACK HERE!" Ashleymanded trailing behind Jake, clearly annoyed.
Jay looked between Ashley and Jake as confusion was written on his face, "Ashley, is everything
okay?" Jay asked, "Yes, Jay, everything is fine, please go back in the car and wait for me," she said as
Jay nodded glimpsing at Jake before getting back inside the car.
Ashley turned back to face Jake, who crossed his arms, "What?" She asked as he scoffed, "You
seriously aren''t getting in that car with him?" He asked, "Yes, I am and I know we agreed to be on good
terms but Jay''s a good guy, so give him a chance," she said as Jake rolled his eyes, "And I strongly
disagree with that," he said as Ashley crossed her arms, "And why is that?" She asked as Jake avoided
her stare.
Ever since they decided to give each other a chance, Jake didn''t want to hurt Ashley intentionally, so
he didn''t say what he had heard from Tatiana causing a smirk to grow upon Ashley''s lips, "I thought so,
see youter Jake," she said before jogging towards Jay car as Jake watched them drove away as his
jaw clenched.
As they drove off, Jay glimpsed at Ashley, "Is everything okay?" He asked as Ashley turned to him with
a smile, "Yup, is perfect," she replied making the ''p'' as Jay chuckled, "Alright then, are you hungry?" He
asked as Ashley nodded, "Starving!" She dramatically replied as both she and Jayughed, "Okay,
anything you''re in the mood for?" He asked as Ashley made a thinking face, "Oh, can we go back to
Aunty Jackie''s, the food from there was the bomb," she replied, "Yeah, sure, we can go there and catch
up on things since we didn''t talk-
"Since you got arrested, which by the way you have some exining to do,” she said, getting

Soon, they arrived at Aunty Jackie’s as Jay parked before they both got out, “Damn! It’s hot today,” Jay
Jay eyed her up and down while licking his lips, “And who said I was talking about the weather,” he said
as Ashley rolled her eyes, “Boy, you y too much,” she giggled as they both entered the restaurant.
Ashley’s giggles died down as I entered the restaurant and saw Tatiana, her crew and Anna, which
caused her. Anna stared back at Ashley before glimpsing at Jay until Tatiana whispered something in
her ear that made her look away in disgust.
As they were passing their table, Tatiana greeted Jay, who greeted her back, “Hey Jay, wassup,” she
glimpsed at Ashley, who seemed ufortable before reaching over to whisper something in Jay’s
ear, “Don’t get her too attached Jay,” she whispered catching Jay off as he nervouslyughed, “W-Well,
I’ll see you lter Tati,” he said before leading Ashley to a table.
“What was that about?” Ashley asked as Jay looked at her with a questionable look What?” He asked
as Ashley rolled her eyes, “Nothing,” She replied before skimming through her menu.

“Tatiana stared at the two individuals as theyughed and whispered amongst each other as her eyes
narrowed, “I thought you said that Ashley was interested in Jake and was trying to steal him away from
me?” Anna asked her cousin while staring at the two, “Well, it’s obvious that she’s trying to get Jake’s
attention, you know how protective he is about her,” she said as Anna nodded.
“But she’s so dumb, Jay is obviously ying her,” she said followed by a chuckled as Anna started to
feel guilty while watching her friend, “You remembered the n, right?” Tatiana sternly asked as Anna
nodded, “Good, because tonight, you’ll get what you want,” she said before smirking at Ashley.
