Chapter 11: Heat
(Ashley’s POV)
"What are you talking about?" I asked, approaching him with a furrow as he did the most thing I hate
about him.

"Oh nothing, I think I''ll save it for a more appropriate time," he said as his smirk widened until my hand
reached out to clean his wounded eyebrow, which was stopped by his cold hand, "Thanks, but I don''t
need your help, I hate people who pity me," he said getting up from my bed before making his way
towards the door as I scoffed, "You''re such a dick," I said as he chuckled bitterly, "Whatever!" He said
before opening the door revealing a pissed Anna.
"What''s up to your ass?" Jake asked, pissing Anna off more, "Get out of my face, ass-wipe," she said
as I''m guessing Jake rolled his eyes while passing her, "Someone''s got their panties in a knot," he
mumbled but loud enough for us to hear.
"Asshole!" She mumbled before entering the room shutting the doors behind her. We stood there facing
each other as silence filled the room. I stood there with curious, innocent eyes while Anna red at me
with her arms crossed.
"So-
"Where have you been?" She asked, cutting me off and also catching me off guard, "Huh?" I asked
watching her slowly walk towards me, "Where have you been, Ashely, I called your phone but there
was no answer, I came to your house but your mother had no idea where you were, so where were
you?" She asked as I began to get annoyed.
"I went out," I simply replied turning away from her as she scoffed, "Out, huh, did you go with him, why
was he in your room?" she asked pissing me off, "Okay, let me stop you there, why would I go anyway
with him, you know I can''t stand him and why does it matter, I didn''t want to stay here so I left to get
some space," I said as she looked at me with doubt in her eyes.
"Really, so why weren''t you answering my calls?" she asked, "Because I don''t have to answer to you
so don''te in here demanding answers as if you own me, I don''t owe you anything Anna," I argued
as she waved me off, "Whatever!" She said before walking out.

(Anna''s POV)
I walked out of her room pissed and irritated. I knew she was lying, I bet she was out with Jake,
probably sucking off each other''s face. Why should I care, right? But I do because I like Jake, he may
be an asshole but he was a hot asshole and Ashely was lucky to have him. Maybe Tatiana was right,
maybe Ashely was trying to take Jake away from me.
"Finish checking me out? A voice suddenly asked, snapping me out of my thoughts, "J-Jake, you-you
wish," I stuttered while blushing hard. Jake narrowed his eyes at me before they were filled with

amusement. A smirk grew on his face as he walked towards me. My heart started pounding in my
chest as he got closer until his chest was pushed up against mine. Our eyes locked as he leaned in
and before I knew it my eyes closed waiting for something to happen but nothing did.
Soon I heard a chuckle which made my eyes open. Jake was still inches away from my now burning
face as he scoffed, "I knew it, pathetic," he said as my heart broke causing me to quickly push him
away before running out of the house.

(Ashley''s POV)
Iid down on my bed while staring up at the ceiling. Today has been the worst and best day since
summer break started. I wished I had nevere home. I should''ve stayed with Jay, he made me feel
happy and special. Why did it have to end?
Speaking of Jay, I wonder what he''s doing?
I reached out for my phone that was on the nightstand before switching it on. I waited until it finally
came on.
6 missed calls from Anna.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance before searching for Jay''s contact before taking a deep breath.
"Hey, Jay!" I texted as I nervously waited for him to reply, "Hey, Ash, wassup? ;)" he replied as I
blushed. (Gosh! he''s such a flirt)
"Nothing much I''m just bored as hell," I replied while watching the bubbles move indicating that he''s
texting, "I guess you''re regrettinging home?" He asked as I nodded although he couldn''t see me.
"Yup!" I said, "Trouble in paradise?" he asked as I rolled my eyes, "Shut up!" I replied, "Hey, I''m just
teasing," he said as I smiled, "But I really hope we can repeat today''s event," I said, biting my lip,
waiting for his reply, "Definitely!" He said before my door opened.
"Honey, can we talk?" My mom asked, entering my room, making things awkward, "Uh, sure," I said
before telling Jay goodbye.

(Jay''s POV)
I was currently down at the racing ground texting Ashely before she had to go. I wasn''t racing tonight
so I just thought why note down to watch. I had girls being through at me left, right, and center but
I immediately turned them down because the only girl I had in mind was Ashely.
"Yo, Jay!" I turned my head in the direction of the voice that called my name to see Tatiana, "Wassup
Tati?" I asked as she got closer to me, "What''s up, aren''t you racing tonight?" She asked as I shook my
head, "Nah, not tonight," I replied as she nodded, "So wassup with you and my cousin''s best friend?"
She asked as I furrowed, "You mean Ashley?" I asked as she nodded, "What is it to you, she''s just a
meaningless fling," I replied as she suddenly smirks, "Really, because she seems attached," she said
as I shrugged, "Her problem then," I replied, "Yeah, well I gotta go, see youter," she said as I nodded
before she walked away.
"Well, isn''t it the yboy," a voice suddenly said as I turned around facing Jake, who had a smug look
on his face, "Well, isn''t it the step-brother," I said returning the smug look as he walked closer to me, "I
need you to stay the f**k away from Ashely," he said as I smirked, "Why, want to keep her all for
yourself? " I asked as we stood face to face drawing attention from everyone, "You know, Jay, I wonder
what Ashley would do, if she finds out that all this time you''ve just been ying her," he said as my
face hardened and my fist clenched. His smirk widened, which pissed me off even more, and before I
could swing a perfect punch.
"IT''S THE POLICE, EVERYONE RAN!"
