The following day Jhonia w3as seated with Mrs. Pinnock on the sofa watching a movie.


    “So… I sent out my resume to at least ninepanies.”  Jhonia said, after a moment  she exined breaking the awkward moment between them!


    “I hope no one calls… I don’t want you to work! I don’t understand why you’re so stubborn. Why are you so stubborn?”  Mrs. Pinnock said to Jhonia, after a moment, she looked at her and stated her reason. Afterwards she continued to speak then asked? Jhonia looked at her without turning her body to her, not even a bit.


    “Why wouldn’t I? My family was poor. My mother loves makeup regardless of how pretty she was and it damages her face. My dad couldn’t keep a job. I didn’t even get to graduate high school! I moved here and then your son never seems to miss a chance to remind me how I am less of a parent and how poor I am, like I was the one who asked him to marry me. So he continued to humiliate me, and there was nothing I could do. Because he was either upset and lose it or he was drunk and forgot to watch the words he says to me. Regardless. Regardless Mr. Pinnock, I found him attractive and at some point and my feelings grew with each day he put a smile on my face and hugged me, so I could hear his heart race. Even though I know it was because he was lying to me. I believe him when he says he was being honest. I open up and let him in and he tore apart me from the inside. I felt like I could never be enough for him. And how could I when he tells me he loves but he always goes to her first. He always has time for her but never for me, he could always take her out but never me, he’s busy and why wouldn’t I believe him? He’s the boss of a hugepany. Of course, he is busy. He lies to me so he can be with her but he never has to lie to her, so he could be with me. He’s changed? Maybe. But how long will he stay, changed for? The moment I no longer have a reason to think twice about him he will go right back to her. So think about it, for me? For all the pain I was carrying and he was supposed to make it better but he made it worse. How can I not be stubborn? I also don’t intend to take anything from him when I leave… And you know that I never… When I leave and I am on my own, I want to do good and won’t have toe to him and ask him for help! I would have no dignity left! I would not only hurt my parents’ pride but my own as well!” Jhonia said, exining in the best way she could! Not wanting to take anything from them Mrs. Pinnock stopped Jhonia from bringing up the money she gave to continue the contract. Jhonia tears run down her face. Mrs. Pinnock too couldn’t hold back her tears. Jhonia refused to hurt her parents’ pride, anymore dead or alive. Nearce who had returned stood by the door and listened to his broken wifes’ words. Knowing that she was on point in everything she said, he couldn’t stop him from standing there and listening to her exin how it was never her for him. How he could lie to her but he couldn’t lie to his mistress. How he would have and make time for his mistress but never for his wife.


    “I have always seen you as a daughter that I never have. I just wish you hade to me, but you too made him seem like he’s a perfect person. I was happy but it’s you who gave him the image he has now. I told you I would not support him, though I thought he would be different. Different from what his father was. But it’s okay, my dear, mend your heart. My husband was no different but I should have paid more attention to you and him regardless. Instead I believe what was shown to me.” Mrs. Pinnock said to her, holding onto her arm and rubbing it with her palm. They sat in silence! Nearce closes the door softly then reopens it so they would hear him enter. He silently went upstairs. His mother and Jhonia watched him go up the stairs.


    “Do you think he heard what I said?”   Jhonia asked, pretending to be worried that he would hear all that she had said.


    “No, he just entered the house so he just came back!” Mrs. Pinnock said, pulling her into a hug. After some time Jhonia pulled back and stood up.


    “I will hang out with the girls tonight, ah.. I will head up and clean up!”   Jhonia said, Mrs. Pinnock nodded and she walked away and went upstairs. Instead of going to her room she went to Nearce’s room but she didn’t see him. She smirks after hearing the shower.


    He’s probably too busy anyway, Jhonia thought.


    Just then his phone made a navigation sound. She leaned over the bed and looked at his phone…


    “And I almost believe he will really change.”  Jhonia said, with her teeths tightly joined. She stood up properly turning to leave.


    “Why did youe? If you were going to leave?”


    Nearce asked her, then said. Jhonia turned her head to him and smirked!


    “For someone who has enjoyed himself and returns home early, Mr. Pinnock you have managed to unknowingly hurt me! Congrattions.” Jhonia said to him, a way of telling she knew he was with his mistress and left his room and went to hers. She was so upset she didn’t see Mr. Pinnock standing on the opposite side of her room. She mmed her door after entering her room.


    “What’s wrong with her?”   Nearce asked? After hearing the door mmed! Mrs. Pinnock then went to her room. She had heard Jhonia saying she had almost believed Nearce. Jhonia took a shower… Afterward, she got dressed and went downstairs. She wears a ck leather skirt inches below her knees, one simr to one she wears before, and a white shirt and a set of heels with her ck coat.


    “Where are you going?”    Nearce asked, as he was having his dinner when she came down… Jhonia ignores him… He stopped eating and rushed to the door stopping her from leaving.

    “That hurts.”   Nearce said. Jhonia stared at him.


    “It should! Excuse me!”  She states to him, pushing him back, opening the door. Telling him to excuse her. Jhonia began stepping out, putting her left hand out. Nearce mmed his hand into the center of the door.


    “You can’t leave”


    “AHH!!!”


    Jhonia screamed from the pain… Orean, seeing the door pressing against her hand from outside, quickly rushes up to the door pushing it back with force. Nearce release the door. Jhonia held onto her left hand with the right. Mrs. Pinnock rushed downstairs. Orean was holding Jhonia hand looking at it.


    “It’s swelling.” Orean said. Nearce turned Jhonia to him and saw the door line marked her wrist.


    “Why didn’t you say something?”   Nearce asked? In panic trying to touch her, Jhonia pulled away from him as she gazed at him with angry eyes.


    “Wasn’t my screaming enough?”   Jhonia responded asking him? Nearce facial expression shows hurt.


    “I just didn’t want you to leave… Jhonia, you wouldn’t have returned.”  Nearce said, looking at her. Jhonia nced at him from the corner of her eyes.


    “Go start the car. Mom, can you please pick her stuff up! … I’m sorry.”   Nearce said to Orean, then to his mom. He then lifted Jhonia into his arms and apologized to her. He took her outside and ced her inside the car. Orean drove out the car speedily to get Jhonia to the hospital.
