Chapter 15 He Did Bring Back Reba
Her silence, indeed, caused Samuel to be even angrier.
He grabbed Matilda by the wrist, lifted her off the ground and dragged her away.
The nurse quickly came forward to stop.
“What are you doing, Sir?” The nurse stopped him, frowning reproachfully, and said, “Did you know she
have...”
“I''m fine!” Matilda hurried to interrupt the nurse. “Thank you, but I''m really fine.”
Samuel took a cold nce at that nurse, dragging Matilda out from the hospital.
Putting Matilda in the car, before she could sit steady, he stepped on the elerator and the car
started with a roar.
Matilda turned to stare out the window, trying to suppress the difort that was welling up in her
body.
The car drove quickly to a vi on the outskirts of the city.
Samuel took the lead to get off the car and walked to the vi without saying a word.
Matilda hesitated for a while, but still followed with some skepticism.
She still held a trace of hope and felt Samuel could not really find Reba!
They came nearer and nearer to the garden, where came the soft voice of the child.
Matilda was stunned. Not waiting for Samuel to speak, she rushed to the ce where the voice came.
Reba her daughter was here!
At the edge of the pool, she was ying with a doll with a young maid.
“Reba...” Matilda''s mind went nk, with her heart stalling in her chest.
Reba heard the voice, raised her head and then showed a bright smile on her little face.
“Mommy!” She dropped the doll and ran over to Matilda on her short legs.
Matilda crouched down and stretched out her arms to catch her.
But Samuel was faster than her. Before she caught Matilda, he held Reba into arms.
Matilda''s heart tightened and her face darkened.
“Samuel, give Reba to me!”
Samuel’s expression was cold, looking at Matilda like a devil.
“Matilda, you didn’t take my warning seriously. How should I punish Reba now?”
Confused about Samuel''s words, Reba blinked her ck big eyes, looked at Matilda, and said
softly, “Mommy......”
Matilda was nervous, “Samuel, you can do anything to me! Don''t hurt my daughter!”
Samuel smiled and looked darkly in his eyes. “Matilda, you really care about your child with Aaron...”
Matilda clenched her fingers, her heart aching bitterly.
“Samuel, no matter what, the child is innocent. I beg you, don''t hurt Reba! She has nothing to do
with our affairs!”
Reba did not understand what happened, but the tenseplexion of the two adults made her feel
the crisis. Suddenly, she cried out loud, struggling with her small body and trying get close to Matilda.
“Mommy! Mommy, hug me!”
Her cry made Matilda feel distressed. She could not help but also burst into tears.
“Be good, Reba, I will be with you soon...” She stepped closer to Reba.
Samuel narrowed his eyes, holding Reba back a few steps.
He stood on the edge of the swimming pool, picked up the cor of Reba with one hand. In the face
