Chapter 8 Her Daughter
Two servants, a man and a woman, came into the room with gruel and chicken soup.
Matilda sat up with difficulty. She turned her head to look at Samuel who refused to get in. Now, she felt
extremely calm.
"You don''t need to do it. I will eat it myself." She said. Then she reached out to take what the servant
was holding.
But the two servants took a step back, avoiding Matilda''s hand.
