    Chapter 59: From Today Onwards

    Dead meat?

If it was Chow who told her to do that to herself, she would do it at once without hesitation.

Otherwise, there would be no difference between her living far away from him and dying by his side

    anyway.

Even if she was still alive and breathing, she was nothing but a walking corpse.

It was just that Vivian knew she wouldn''t even have the option to die by his side because of this person

    that Chow loved.

In the end, Chow''s heart still belonged to somebody else.

Celine''s eyes flickered as she came even closer to Vivian. "Someone will be here to send you away at

two o''clock at dawn tomorrow," she whispered.

    "Send me away?" Vivian echoed.

"Yes, send you away. You can go wherever you want to go as long as you never return to Holy City and

never let us see you again. Change your name, do whatever is necessary toy low," Celine said

slowly and softly as if she was trying to hypnotise Vivian.

Leave the world with Chow behind her, change her name, and continue living peacefully for the rest of

    her life?

This was everything Vivian could ever hope for.

Vivian''s eyes finally brightened a little. "Can you really send me away?"

Celine wanted tough, but she knew that this was a critical moment, so the expression on her face

remained calm and sincere. "Vivian, we''ve known each other for so long. Even if you''ve betrayed me, I

still can''t bear to see Chow treating you like this. It''ll be better for us both if you just leave."

Vivian clenched her fists tightly. Her nails dug into her palms and drew blood.

    "Okay, I''ll leave."

"Everything smells so good. I''m so hungry! I''m going to finish everything Aunt ine cooked today,"

Vivian said as she happily and hungrily inhaled the aroma of all the food in front of her.

The dining table was full of her favourite dishes today.

Vivian had purposely requested Aunt ine''s specialty menu for dinner tonight. The other dishes on

the table were made by Vivian herself.

Aunt ine was relieved to see Vivian like this and finally let out a huge smile. "I thought that you

would probably regain your appetite after going out today and purposely had Mike bring me to the

effect on you. Did you meet a friend?"

Vivian pursed her lips and thought about it before nodding heavily. "I guess you can call us friends. I

made a very pretty new friend who promised to help me out."

"I''m d to hear that you''re so happy, Miss. Eat as much as you want!" Aunt ine kept nudging the

dishes closer to Vivian even though she was already surrounded by all the food.

Suddenly, Vivian got up from her seat, held onto Aunt ine''s shoulders, and guided her to sit down in

    the opposite chair.

"I can finish all of this food, but only on one condition."

"Condition? What condition?" Aunt ine hadn''t seen this lively side of Vivian for a long time and was

    also feeling rather energetic herself.

Vivian then pointed at the few dishes that she made and smiled back at Aunt ine. "I made all these

especially for you. If you want me to eat, then you also have to eat with me."

Aunt ine quickly stood up with an embarrassed look on her face. "Miss, I don''t think that''s

    appropriate," she said.

Vivian firmly sat Aunt ine back down. "Aunt ine, you know very well that I''m not the real mistress

of this house. I''m nothing but a guest here after all."

Vivian tried charming Aunt ine by fluttering her eyshes at her. "For the past two years, you were

the only person who has never looked down on me. You''re the closest person to me. Please, won''t you

    join me for dinner?"

Aunt ine looked at Vivian with fond eyes and finally nodded with a soft smile on her face. "Alright

then. I also really enjoy the dishes that you make."

"Then, in the future..." Vivian stopped mid-sentence before smiling widely and pushing a bowl of

mushroom soup towards Aunt ine. "Then you have to eat more of it today. I put a lot of effort into

    today''s dinner."

"Don''t keep pushing the food to me, you have to eat too," Aunt ine quickly said.

Vivian''s task for Aunt ine today was to apany her for dinner.

Of course, after seeing Vivian refuse to eat or drink for days, Aunt ine was immensely relieved to

see that Vivian was finally willing to eat again. She just wanted Vivian to eat a little more.

Vivian went back to her seat and tapped on her te of lobster carbonara. "Don''t worry, I''m going to

finish everything that you made for me today. I''m not sharing this with you!"

Because, there wouldn''t be many more chances for her to enjoy Aunt ine''s cooking anymore.

There was just tonight and tomorrow night left.

It was less than a day apart.

She was going to leave this home, Aunt ine, and that person behind.

She didn''t even realise that she''d been referring to this ce as her home for a while.

Vivian still had a bright smile on he face. She was really astonished at how well she could act so

carefree in front of Aunt ine.

She had actually been worried that she wouldn''t be able to put on an act for Aunt ine.

Who would have thought that her final performance before her departure would be such a sess?

She managed to pull wool over Aunt ine''s eyes. Vivian only hoped that Aunt ine wouldn''t be too

sad when she finally left for good.

This was life, after all. Things changed; people came and went. She hade, and she was soon

leaving. However, she made sure to store everything that had happened in this home in her memory for

    life.

It wasn''t just Chow, but also Aunt ine. She wanted to remember them forever.

"This is so yummy! I love your cooking so much!" Since it was thest day, Vivian didn''t hold back on

    herpliments.

She wanted to remember the smile on Aunt ine''s face when she looked back in the future.

Knowing that she wouldn''t have a chance to eat Aunt ine''s cooking again next time, Vivian''s

appetite increased so much that she actually managed to devour everything that Aunt ine made for

her. The dishes were all practically empty by the time she was done.

Later, she helped Aunt ine clean up the dining room. After a while, Aunt ine shooed her back into

    her room.

Even though Vivian hadn''t stepped out of the mansion for days, she still hadn''t managed to have a

    good night''s rest.

For now, what she really needed was proper sleep.

Starting tomorrow, she was going to embark on a long, hard journey into the unknown.

However, as Viviany on the bed, she didn''t feel the least bit sleepy at all.

She had been meaning to leave this house for so long, but she never thought that the chance would

She had begged Chow to let her go many times in the past to no avail. She''d even thought of secretly

    running away on her own.

However, running away had always only been wishful thinking for her. She knew that she would never

    be able to do it.

But now, she actually promised Celine that she would leave.

Vivian used to think that staying by Chow''s side was a second chance for her.

But now, the only thing she felt was sadness in her heart.

They would never see each other again for the rest of their lives.

No matter what happened between the both of them in the past, they were still only fated to meet for

    two short years.

From today onwards, she would live her own life and he his own. Their fates were no longer entangled

    with each other.

As soon as she thought of the possibility of them never meeting again in the future, she felt rather

    reluctant to leave.

But on the day before her departure, she didn''t want to suppress her feelings anymore.

After all, she only had one day left.

The person that she loved with all her heart yet thought of her as a sly, cunning snake.

This was thest time she would be able to be so close to him.

In fact, she didn''t even know if she would be able to see him for thest time before she left.

As she thought of this, all of the heartache that Vivian tried suppressing in the past washed over her

    once more.

She sighed and turned on the bedsidemp next to her.

The light filled up the entire room, but it still could not fill the hole in her chest.

Vivian lifted the nkets and got out of bed. Then, she started walking towards her wardrobe as if she

    was being hypnotised.

She rarely ever opened the heavy wooden door. She usually kept her daily clothes hanging on the

clothes rack by her bedroom door.

It was because of the other door behind all the clothes in the wardrobe.

The door that led straight into Chow''s room.

Since living here two years ago, she had never taken the initiative to walk towards her wardrobe door,

    much less stepped into it.

But on thest night here, she couldn''t help wanting to go into his room for onest time, even if she

knew that Chow wasn''t going toe back that night.

    ...

Maybe it was because this was the ce that was the closest to Chow.

She wanted to be selfish for onest night.

Vivian turned on the lights in the wardrobe and pushed apart the dresses hanging inside there. Finally,

with a swish, she opened the interconnecting door between the two wardrobes.

Beyond Chow''s impable suits hanging neatly in a row was his bedroom.

It had been two years, and this was her first timeing in.

Since Chow wasn''t around, the curtains weren''t drawn.

The silver moonlight poured through the transparent ss window, bathing everything in the room in a

    cold, blue glow.

Vivian felt exactly like that too. Cold, and blue.

Vivian didn''t bother turning on the lights.

She slowly walked over to Chow''s bed andy on the mattress.

Chow hadn''t been back for days. The pillow and sheets no longer smelt like him.

Even if she was just lying on Chow''s bed, Vivian felt her heart starting to hurt more and more.

    This was the final time.

If she slept in his bed like this, she could perhaps trick herself into thinking that he was hugging her to

    sleep.

Maybe this was the only way she could say goodbye to him.

Vivian finally closed her eyes slowly. However, she couldn''t stop herself from crying.

She quickly stifled the sobs that were threatening to spill out of her mouth. However, there was nothing

she could do about the immense pain she felt in her chest.

She kept crying silently. Her body trembled as she wept.

    Chow. She only wanted Chow.

If only she hadn''t met that angel in the snow that day and just got up from the ground as usual and

went home after the kids were done throwing snowballs at her.

If Cindere never met the prince, then she would never have known that there would be a slight

chance for her to have her happily ever after.

If she hadn''t met him at that time, she would have most probably run away from him as soon as she

    could.

She would never have to suffer like this.

    Click!

With a soft click, the room was suddenly flooded in bright light.

Vivian''s whole body immediately stiffened. She grabbed at Chow''s nkets tightly.

Chow''s voice rang out from behind her. "Oh, so you knew that I wasing back tonight? You should

have worn something sexier if you were thinking of trying to seduce me again."

    He actually came back!

Vivian hurriedly sat up and put on her bedroom slippers in a fluster. However, she dared not say

    anything else.

She didn''t want her sobs to escape her lips.

Crying in front of someone who hated her so much would only bring her even more scorn and

    ridicule.
