Chapter 39: 39. First Day at Office


    D''s PoV


    I hate going along with him to the office. But I don''t have an option. I slept in the guest room, as


    Shakshi and her dad left after we went to that damn shopping. I thoughtfullytched the door lock that


    is high up in the door. He can’t open it now. I got ready by wearing a white salwar. I love white and I


    think it brings me luck. I was all ready and was eating breakfast when he came. I dare not to see him. I


    was talking with my uncle and Ravi. They both wished me luck.


    Ravi knows what happened. I can''t hold it inside me, and he kept on consoling me that I burst out to


    him. He is all angry at his brother. I don''t know, but my uncle too ignored Rishi during breakfast. Ravi


    must have told everything to uncle.


    In the car, neither he nor I started up a conversation. Dakshu said she wille directly to the office.


    Aftering home yesterday, I thought to quit this nonsense I was doing. He is not worth it. He is


    totally confusing. One time he behaves like I''m his. The very next moment he throws me away like


    trash. He had that audacity to question me when he was roaming around with his ex-girlfriend.


    At the shop, when I was looking for some clothes someone called me. I didn’t recognize him. He


    introduced himself as Praveen. I know this name. But I couldn''t remember where. When I said I don''t


    know him, he practicallyughed at me. He said he was my groom-to-be. I didn’t know how to react. It


    was because of him, I was at that damn ce at the wrong time. No, notpletely true. It was


    because of him, I got married to my love.


    But he spoke very nicely, and I found him to be a practical man. But then Rishi came in. I could literally


    see his dislike for Praveen. He can''t see me talk to a stranger who was supposed to be my ex. But he


    is tagging his ex along even now and ignores me for her. How am I supposed to take that? I decided to


    give him the taste of his own medicine.


    He even had that audacity to yell at me for not sitting in the front seat. How dare he? She was too


    quick, and he was dumb all the time and he expect me to fight with her for my rights? I was on the


    verge of giving up. But Mindy told me that Smirthi has something that makes Rishi consider her. I need


    to find what binds them. I don’t see any love for her in his eyes. Justpulsion. This is myst try. If


    he is ignorant and dumb after this too, then I''m done with him.


    Dakshu’s PoV


    Wow, Fresh day, Fresh start. I got all ready for my first day at work. Danya said she wille with Rishi


    mama for a proper intro. I mean, a special treatment is always nice. When I reached the ce, it was a


    multi-storeyplex. The Firm Fort Constructions was on the 6th floor. I ran into the lift because it was


    almost closed.


    "Wow! Hey Stranger, Surprise! How are you Mr.Handsome?" I asked as I stepped into the elevator.


    "You? God!" He muttered and turned away. Is he not happy to see me again? But I am happy.


    "Hey! What are you doing here? Do you work here?" I asked him.


    "Can''t you stop irritating me? Why do you wanna know that? To spoil my peace?" He literally barked at


    me.


    "Ooohhhh, you don’t have to be this rude." I told him.


    "Look at his face! baboon! Idiot!" I mumbled to myself.


    "What did you just say?"


    "Huh, nothing." I turned away.


    When the 6th floor hit, we both got down. So, he works in this office? Yay! Six weeks of internship is


    going to be fun after all. I saw Danya and mama waiting in the reception area. I ran towards them.


    "Hey Danya. Hi mama. You guys are early. Thank you for sending her mama. It''s going to


    be awesome."


    I hugged Danya and spoke to Rishi mama. Rishi mama smiled at me lovingly and looked behind me


    with a warm smile. Who is he smiling at? Oh, Mr. Handsome!? They know each other?


    "Dei Rishi. Good morning da!"


    "Good morning da Karthik. Meet my wife Danya. This is your new intern Daksha. Danya’s sister."


    What? WHAAATTT? He is Karthik? The MD of thispany? OMG!


    "Hi!" I smiled sheepishly at him. He just nodded at me. No smile? Manners less idiot.

    "Ok karthik! You guys carry on. I have a meeting. If she gives you any trouble just gimme a call." Rishi


    mama said.


    OMG! D should have shown her real face to mama. This soon? I think they made progress in their


    rtionship and I am happy for them. I know no one can resist her charms and yfulness.


    "Dei, You talk like dropping a kindergarten kid in school." Heughed. Wow, How nice.


    "You don''t know her. She fell down from a tree, yed with paint balls onwn with the neighbor kid,


    cheats my dad on ludo, poured glue in Ravi''s shoes and the list goes on. Keep an eye on her."


    Oops! Iughed out loud, and Danya was ring at me. Also, that orangutan. I closed my mouth with


    my hands.


    Rishi Mama left and Karthik took us to his room.


    "Danya, I want you to supervise the HR department. Coborate with them and get a list of all the


    important employee details. I want a list of people who are directly involved in quotation making. I know


    myself and Janani do it. But after my finalization, I want to know who does it pass through and who else


    directly or indirectly have ess to it?! It''s very confidential, Danya. I trust you on this." he told her.


    "Thank you for your trust though I haven''t done anything to gain it. I''m sure you will find what you are


    looking for. I will do my best." she told him.


    He called Janani through inte and sent Danya away with her with an All The Best.


    Now it''s just me and him! Aiyayo! I looked anywhere except him. He just stood from his chair and came


    to me. He bent dangerously near me, caging me in his hands on both sides, his breath fanning my


    face. I looked up at him.


    "So! What have you called me so far? mmmm dumbhead, dog, lunatic, baboon, idiot. What are you


    going to call me now?"


    "um....let''s make it this way. I will call you ''Karthik'' in the office. Outside you are my Stranger. My Mr.


    Handsome, Deal!?!?!?" I winked at him.


    "You are unbelievable. Are you not scared?" He smiled at me.


    I know I can handle him. After all, we sisters are totally irresistible. He called someone through the


    inte. A young man came in.


    "He is Gowtham. You will work with him. He will teach you the basics for the first week. From next


    week, you will work on the new project with exterior elevation and design. Get to know the software


    well. You will report to me when you leave everyday. All the best." he said to me.

    I went along with him to start my work. Why am I feeling his hot breath on me still?
