His unexpected support

    Melissa

My body tingled with excitement as I bit back an encouraging smile. “You want to feed me?”

He winked, massaging his temples. “If you want me to.”

My insides throbbed with heat, a pool of wetness forming between my thighs. I waved it off with a nervous chuckle and took a deep breath. “I’ll go and get us some sses.”

I quickly did something akin to a race to the kitchen then banged the door shut. My breath was uneven and I hoped that Dexter wouldn’t notice my uneasiness.

How could his mere presence evoke such raw emotions from me? If I could be aroused by a brief flirtatious conversation, then I wondered what would happen if he decided to kiss me.

My body shivered at the thought as I remembered all the nights I had to touch myself to orgasm with his memory stuck in my brain. I craved him like a drug and now that he was here, I was shying away.

On remembering the reason I came into the kitchen in the first ce, I picked out two wine sses from the cabs, did a quick rinse and headed back to the living room.

“I’m sorry for taking so long,” I said and sat down on a chair opposite him. No matter how aroused I was, I wouldn’t sell myself cheap by flirting back at him.

“It’s fine.” He picked up the wine bottle from the bag and opened it.

Like the gentleman he was, he poured out the wine for the both of us and I opened the pizza box. I took out a slice while thinking of the most normal conversation we could have.

    “How’s Lilly?”

His countenance fell as he took a sip from his cup, his eyes broody. “She’s alright. My mother and I have decided that she’d have to stay in my house for some time, while she meditates over her mistake.”

“But you’re a busy man. How will you cope with taking care of her and work? It’s not an easy job.” I warned him.

“Yeah, I know, but I don’t want to imagine what I’d have done if anything had happened to Lilly. I don’t think I’ll be able to recover from it.” His voice was hard and I could tell that he was speaking from a ce of fear and love.

An idea popped into my head as I bit into my slice. “You know, having a nanny could save you a whole lot of stress.”

His eyes lit up warmly in gratitude for my suggestion. “I didn’t think of that but thank you. I’ll just look out for a nanny who will take care of her in the meantime.”

I nodded and averted my gaze from him when he asked an unexpected question. “Why are you interested in buying shares from a dyingpany?”

My body became rigid as I froze with the rim of the wine ss fixed between my lips. No one was supposed to know what I was up to, especially not him.

I ignored his question and dropped my ss on the table, fury coursing through me. “How dare you go through my stuff without my permission?” I hollered at him as he squinted his eyes in confusion. This content belongs to N?/velDra/ma.Org .

“You were taking so long in the kitchen and I got bored, and I also wanted to know what made you so busy that you forgot about lunch and dinner.” He said but I was too furious to make sense of his excuses.

“No, Dexter!” I disagreed. “You don’t go about intruding into other people’s privacy, especially not mine!” I yelled at him.

His warm smile disappeared, and it was reced with a stoic mask. Guilt washed over me because deep down I knew my reaction was too extreme, but I wouldn’t admit my wrong. I was being defensive.

He got to his feet and tucked his hands into his pocket. “I’m sorry for making you feel that way. I should have minded my business and I promise it won’t happen again.” He had already gotten to the door, and my heart mmed hard against my chest in realization of what he was about to do.

At that point, all my anger vanished and I stood up as well. “Where are you going?” I whispered.

“Home,” He replied casually. “I don’t think you want me around for now.” He stated and my conscience pricked me.

I took in a deep breath and raked through my hair with a sigh of resignation. This wasn’t how I wanted the night to go and even though Dexter was wrong to invade my privacy, there were better ways of correcting him.

And above all, I was hoping that we could have more than just a conversation.

“That’s not true, Dexter, I want you to be here,” I admitted it because it was the truth.

His brows arched against each other as he moved away from the door, igniting some rays of hope. “You yelled at me, Melissa and I’m kind of hurt. I know I was wrong but I was just concerned about your health.”

I closed the distance between us and reached for his hands. “I overreacted for reasons I can’t exin, but I want you to know that I didn’t mean any of the harsh things I said.”

He did the unexpected and pulled me closer for a hug. I buried my face in his arms, enjoying the mixture of his minty deodorant and woody perfume that wafted into my nostrils.

I broke the hug, needing to let the cat out of the bag, and then I sank onto the floor. He did the same and I began to tell him all about my ns for Hills Jewelry, excluding my true identity and the real reason I wanted thepany back even though the Dexter I knew wouldn’t be satisfied with my rushed exnation.

“You have a great business acumen and I admire that.”

I beamed at him, feeling proud that someone like him could see me in such a light. “Thank you very much. I learned from the best.”

“And who is that?” A dark undertone of jealousy followed his question.

    “You,” I replied.

He grinned. “We haven’t known each other for a long time so how have I been able to mentor you?”

I’d shot myself in the foot again. I had to be more careful. “Let’s just say, I studied from afar.”

He nodded, but I knew he didn’t believe me. “I’m going to buy some shares in thepany as well so I can vote for you.” He dered and I gasped.

My eyes nearly popped out of their sockets as I tried to process what he had just said.

“You can’t be serious, Dexter.” I stared at him, looking for traces of unseriousness but I found none.

Just a gorgeous man, gazing at me like I was the only one that mattered.

“I’m very serious.” His chill tone had me panting because I realized that he wasn’t bluffing. He meant every word he said, which also meant that Leonardo stood no chance against me whenever I decided to contest.

I flung myself at him, holding him tightly. “Thank you so much for this. What can I do to repay you?” I cried, my throat burning with barely suppressed sobs.

He lowered his face to my ear and I shivered as my mouth ran dry. “I want to kiss you.”

I flinched like I wasn’t expecting him to tell me that. “You’ve always been like this anyway.”

He pulled away with a questioning look. “What do you mean?”

Replying to him wouldplicate matters, and right now I wanted nothing else but to feel him; every part of him, not minding what would be the oue.

My fingers grazed his cheeks and my lips spread into a smile, and without thinking, I did what I’d been yearning to do for days. I pressed my lips against him and sparked the mes of pleasure.
