Chapter 5


    Ca got home from the interview at exactly 2pm. She plopped down on the couch in the living


    room, if you can call it that. She rested her hair on the arm of the couch and reyed how the


    interview went in her memory. Liam, her boss now, was gorgeous and sexy. He was 6''2 feet tall,


    had a set of steamy blue eyes and thick ck hair, which she could guess was soft. She wouldn''t


    deny that she was drooling over him when she saw him half naked. He had soft hair on his chest


    down to his navel. He looked like he just came out of the cover of a fashion magazine. His hard


    body rippled from raw muscles whenever he moved. He really looked like a Greek god. When he


    smirked and told her to take a picture, she felt like her heart would stop. She had looked away, of


    course. She couldn''t stand his cocky, smug grin. When he walked towards her in that masculine


    gait, she stared at him dreamily and tried covered her action up by speaking even before he got to


    sit downfortably. His whole demeanor changed fast, taking on a hard business man look. Gone


    was the cocky Liam she met at first.


    She was shocked by the amount he would be paying her monthly. No doubt he was rich. She


    was more than happy. With that amount, she would be able to pay their debts and also find a better


    ce for herself. This ce was old and needed renovation but she couldn''t waste her money on


    that just yet. Ca brought out her phone and dialed Jenny''s number. She picked on the third ring.


    " Hey dear " her voice sounded distant, like she was not near the phone.


    " Babe what''s up? " Ca wanted to know why she pickedte.


    " I was in the kitchen so I didn''t hear it ring on time " she sounded tired too and Ca


    mentioned it to her " oh dear, you sound tired . Is the work choking you up? "


    " Kind of, really. The restaurant is so full this afternoon and I have very few hands to help. I


    called Hunter about thirty minutes ago toe help but he was busy too "


    " Oh dear " Ca sighed, taking pity on her friend. " Should Ie over to lend a hand? I have


    some good news to tell you too so we can just talk while we work. How ''bout that? " She offered,


    smiling.


    " Yeah, I would really appreciate that. Thank you dear " Jenny sighed, relieved.

    Ca was in Jenny''s restaurant fifteen minutester. She met Jenny struggling with some dirty


    dishes. She immediately joined her and they washed every dirty dishes.


    " Jenny, why don''t you employ more hands to help you out in the kitchen? I''m afraid this


    workload is too much for you. I don''t want you to fall sick out of stress, are you listening to me at all?


    " Ca nudged Jenny when she didn''t reply immediately.


    " Of course I want to " Jenny replied tiredly. " I''ve not seen anyone I like yet so far. I don''t like


    the ones that have beening., I want someone almost perfect, if not perfect for this job. I want


    someone that is capable, not just some teenager fresh out of high school. You won''t understand,

    " That reminds me, You said you wanted to tell me something "Jenny said, suddenly


    remembered what Ca had told her.


    " Yeah " and Ca intentionally left it at that, leaving Jenny hanging.


    " Ohe on. What is it? I''m dying out of curiosity right now " Jenny whined.


    " Take a guess " Ca suggested, eyes twinkling in mischief.


    " You know I''m not good at that " Jenny whined again, this time pouting too.


    Ca decided to take pity on her " okay okay. I''ve gotten a job " she blurted out. Jenny screamed


    and jumped up in excitement.


    " Oh thank goodness! I''m so happy for you dearest friend " she hugged her friend and nted


    kisses on her face.


    " Thank you " Caughed " and guess what again?" She asked again and Jenny gave her


    a yful re.


    " Don''t start " she warned.


    Caughed heartily before saying, " I''ll be paid one million dors every month! And I''ll be paid


    more when I be a permanent employee " she eximed, barely containing her joy. Jenny


    looked at her in shock at first. It was as if the words had not sank into her head. She processed


    what Ca just said and screamed again.


    " Wow! Wow! Are you for real?? " Her eyes went huge.


    " I am! " Ca screamed too.


    " Wow! " Jenny repeated and added, " What''s the name of thepany and which post are


    you being hired for? "


    " It''s L&Bpany and I''m to be the CEO personal assistant ". Ca answered and Jenny


    laughed, not believing her.


    " It''s fine baby. You can tell me the name of thepany. No matter how small and unpopr


    it is, it''s still okay if you''re being paid that huge amount " Jenny said, stillughing.


    Ca looked hurt by Jenny''s statement " You don''t believe me? " Ca looked slightly


    annoyed. Jenny stoppedughing on seeing Ca''s expression.


    " Hey honey. You know I believe you. It''s just that what you told me is kinda hard to believe.


    L&Bpany?? As in, the L&Bpany?? ". Ca didn''t say a word, she continued looking at her


    friend, waiting for her toe out of it. Jenny realized what she had done, saw how hurt Ca


    looked.


    " I''m sorry sweetie " and she looked really sorry.


    " It''s fine. So what''s up with the L&B.... L&B you''ve been chanting? " Ca asked, rolling her


    eyes. Jenny looked shock, " You''ve never heard of L&Bpany?? "


    Ca nodded, shrugging like it didn''t matter " Oh my God! That is one of the most prestigious


    and well-to-dopany in the whole of Mexico city! " She added, " you need to go out often and


    socialize a little bit, my dear ''cause it sounds hrious! " Jenny said dramatically, one hand on a hip


    and the other hand rubbed her eyes like a mother that was fed up with her child''s tyranny.


    " Yes Mom " Ca rolled her eyes again and the twoughed.


    " An advice for you, dear friend, " Jenny started, " Be careful of Liam ke. Rumour has it that


    he is as sexy as fuck and he bed every girl he has his eyes on " Jenny finished.


    " Oh really? Well, that''s not my concern. I''m his P.A so I hope he respects that ".


    " I hope so too, dear. And I pray you don''t fall for him " Jenny said, eyes twinkling.


    " What the hell?! " Ca said and chased Jenny out of the kitchen.

    Ca woke up the next morning feeling excited and anxious at the same time. It was 5:45am.


    She set her duvet aside and sat on her bed, imagining what today would bring. She bathed and


    brushed quickly. Then she poured some cereals in a cup which she devoured at a high speed. The


    next thing was her outfit in which she took up to 30 minutes before finally decided to settle for one.


    She brought out a ck slim fitted skirt and a silky, white top. She tucked in and looked at the


    mirror. The skirt stopped a little bit past her knee and show cased her womanly curves. She was a


    natural beauty who didn''t need to wear Butt pants or wear makeup to look beautiful. God had


    blessed her with a great, to-die-for body. She topped her outfit with ck heels.


    It was 6:20 when she finally left her ce. She hurried up, not wanting to bete on her first


    day at work knowing it won''t leave a good impression. She decided to take a taxi because It would


    be faster. At exactly seven o'' clock, she was inside thepany. She greeted thedy at the table.

    Ca smiled " Thank you so much " and she left Margaret to her work. She took the elevator up


    to the second floor. Liam was already seated when she entered his office, typing away furiously on

    " Good morning Mr ke " she greeted cheerfully.


    " Morning Miss Reeds " he replied grimly, not looking up. " You''re 3 minuteste on your first


    day at work " He added before looking up to acknowledge her presence physically

    Ca raised her eyebrows, waiting for him to continue. He just continued to stare, as if he was in a


    trance. She saw how he checked her out, his eyes almost bulging out of their sockets.


    Ca couldn''t exin why she felt so good knowing that he found her attractive. She tucked


    her hair behind her ear, feeling confident all of a sudden and snapped her first two fingers in front of


    her, freeing him of the spell she seemed to have casted on him.


    " Wh.... What?" Liam asked still in a daze.


    " I thought you wanted to say something sir? " Ca asked smugly, knowing she was the cause


    of it all.


    " Oh! No.... No.... Not at all. Uh sorry yeah " Liam stuttered, struggling to get the words out.


    Ca doubled over,ughing. She watched Liam''s face flushed in embarrassment that she had


    caught him ogling her.


    " Never mind, just take your seat over there and Amanda will be here in a minute to brief you


    on how you''ll go about your job as my P.A " He coughed slightly, before returning to what he was


    working on before she came in.
