away. “Suri was right; I ruined Cassius. If only I had listened to her, none of this would have happened.
Evadne, I’m unforgivable. I’ve been selfish. But I wish I could be the only one to pay the price. I’d take
any suffering, any punishment. I don’t want Cassius to suffer. I wish we could go back to the start. But it

Pain pricked Evadne’s heart; her voice caught in her throat.
Putting aside whether her brother was truly ruined or not, Chasel was crumbling to ruins.

Evadne? Will the world ept us, will your father, your family? I could give up everything, but Cassius
