The day after the incident at K World Hotel, Glynnis got all dolled up and went to the presidential suite
at Abernathy Hotel to meet with Ada in the afternoon.
Ada was far from surprised at her visit, even a bit dismissive.
After all, in her eyes, this chick was nowhere near Evadne in terms of style, charisma or banter. Not
even close.
If it weren’t for the fact that she was from the Abernathy Group, she probably wouldn’t give this
superficial woman the time of day.
“Miss Ada, I heard about the breach of contract by K World Hotel causing a dy in your wedding and I
was pretty bummed. Their handling of the situation was totally out of line. It’s too hasty Leaking any
client information is super unprofessional and should be condemned in our industry,” Glynnis ranted
about K World Hotel, oblivious to Ada’s souring expression, “If you had chosen our Abernathy Hotel
from the get-go, none of this mess would’ve happened.”
“Ms. Glynnis, are you saying I have no taste?” Ada sipped her coffee, asking with a smile that wasn’t
really a smile.
“That’s not what I meant.” Glynnis was lost for words.
“Ms. Glynnis. Even though I’m not working with K World Hotel anymore, it doesn’t mean I have to or
can only choose the Abernathy Group. Ms. Evadne is a top-notch manager, and the hotel’s vition
might have other reasons. Maybe they were set up bypetitors. Who knows?”
Glynnis felt a knot in her stomach.
This was clearly a warning for her!
“But you did end your partnership with them, didn’t you?”
“That’s because we signed a contract, and we should honor it.”
Ada said coldly. “Ms. Glynnis, as ady, you should know better than to badmouth others. Moreover,
the Abernathy Group shouldn’t have to put others down to make themselves look good.”
Glynnis was feeling more and more awkward, extremely embarrassed.
She had thought that due to the leak of the wedding photos, Evadne and Ada had a falling out. Who
knew Ada would still defend Evadne. Was Ada bewitched by Evadne or something?
“Miss Ada, your wedding is around the corner. If you switch hotels and start nning from scratch,
there won’t be enough time.”
Glynnis quickly adjusted her haughty attitude and lowered her stance, “If you choose our hotel now, we
won’t dy your wedding, we can start setting up immediately, guaranteed to finish on time?”

Ada nonchntly flipped her short hair, “I want Mr. Thaddeus toe in person, andmunicate with
me directly. At the Abernathy Group, I only trust Mr. Thaddeus.”
Glynnis stormed out of the hotel.

Elspeth was livid, her tone icy, “Go to your father now, have him put pressure on that man. Thaddeus
will surely step in for the hotel’s benefit.” Glynnis followed her mother’s advice and rushed over to the
Abernathy Group.
In the chairman’s office, Glynnis leaned on Frederic, recounting the cold treatment she received from
Ada.
“Glynnis, you are too naive. You are protected too well by me and your mother, and you don’t
understand the harsh realities of the world.” Frederic lovingly massaged his daughter’s nape, “You’re
just starting out, still green. Take this as a learning experience. Next time, remember, your expression
and eyes all reflect your thoughts. You can’t let people know what you’re thinking through your
behavior. That’s dangerous.”

Frederic pulled out his phone and video called Thaddeus.
On the screen, a cold face appeared.
Glynnis quickly clung to Frederic’s arm, showing off her close rtionship with her father in front of
Thaddeus.
But hepletely ignored her, just coldly asking, “What’s up?”
“Ada, your sister has pretty much sealed the deal, now it’s up to you to finalize it.”
Frederic’s tone wasmanding. “Go see her ASAP and get the contract signed.”
“Since it’s almost done. There’s no need for me to step in.” Thaddeus sneered, “Congrats to Glynnis in
advance for grabbing such a project that could boost her career from Ms. Evadne, Since Glynnis is so
capable. She should take care of this important task herself. I won’t steal her thunder. Glynnis was
fuming, her eyes welling up with tears!
How was she supposed to break this stalemate without Thaddeus’ help?
“Thaddeus, Glynnis is your sister. She’s worked hard to get this far. As her brother, can’t you lend her a

Frederic’s temper red up, yelling. “Thaddeus!”
“If you really want to fix this, why don’t you do it yourself? As the chairman of the Abernathy Group,
can’t you handle a celeb?”
As soon as he finished speaking, the screen went ck. Thaddeus had hung up the video call.
Meanwhile, the Fairhaven family also had some issues.
Mrs. Jareth had been battling with Bertha for the organization rights of the charity jewelry auction. She
thought she had it all negotiated with Alvin’s team, but then she found out yesterday that Alvin had
gone with the Chambers Group.
All of Mrs. Jareth’s recent efforts had gone down the drain. She was deeply upset.
Edith saw this and was pissed.
She knew why Alvin had suddenly changed his mind. It was all to help Evadne, wasn’t it?
Edith returned to her room, stomping around in frustration. She couldn’t figure out a solution, so she
called her friend Glynnis
“I’m feeling really down. I’m throwing a party at my brother’s bar tonight. Can youe and have some
drinks with me?”

Glynnis told Edith about Ada refusing to sign a contract with her, “Although we messed up Evadne and

Edith walked into the dressing room. She picked out fancy clothes from hervish wardrobe and said
lazily. There’s been too much going on recently. I’ve been feeling really down. Glynnis, can you help me
find something fun to cheer me up?”
